WWE legend Dave Bautista is one of the most dominant superstars in wrestling history. Also, the wrestler-turned-actor is a yellow belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, which is the highest accomplishment in the sport. Recently, he spoke with MMA fighter Matt Aroyo and detailed how learning the martial arts sport has helped him in his Hollywood career.

“Why should I be afraid of it? If it’s uncomfortable, that’s one thing. But don’t be afraid of it. Don’t run away from confrontation because sometimes confrontation is necessary,” Dave Bautista said. Moreover, he mentioned that Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu helps with verbal communication as well. Interestingly, the former World Champion claimed that he went through a time when people tried to choke him daily.

All in all, Dave Bautista pointed out how learning Jiu-Jitsu helps build the highest level of confidence. Previously, the 54-year-old chose Brock Lesnar’s submission move, the Kimura Lock, as his go-to maneuver. At the moment, he is enjoying his time off from acting. However, it seems that an appearance by Big Dave is highly unlikely.

Reason why Dave Bautista is not yet in the WWE Hall of Fame

Without a doubt, Dave Bautista deserves a place in WWE’s prestigious Hall of Fame class. The Animal was to headline the 2020 marquee event. However, the show was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Since then, fans have waited for Bautista to be rightfully inducted.

Many members of the WWE Universe believed that this year’s event was the proper time, given that WrestleMania took place in the state of Hollywood. Later, Dave Bautista revealed the reason behind his absence at the ceremony. In an interview with CoolKicks, he mentioned that he was in South Africa at the time of the ceremony.

“No. I was in South Africa. I was supposed to go into the Hall of Fame, but I was on this film that I was committed to; I couldn’t get out of it,” the legend said. Instead, Bautista’s former tag team partner, Rey Mysterio, would end up headlining this year’s Hall of Fame class.
