The Elimination Chamber is just a few hours away. It is the last stop on the road to WrestleMania. Therefore, the WWE Universe is quite excited for the premium live event taking place in Montreal. The match that has absorbed all the attention of the fans is between Roman Reigns and Sami Zayn. The storyline revolving around The Bloodline and Zayn kept the fans glued to their screens. Wrestling Observer Dave Meltzer, on the other hand, commented on WWE’s current plans for the match between Reigns and Zayn.

In the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer revealed that WWE initially had plans to make Sami Zayn lose the match against Roman Reigns at Elimination Chamber. The outcome would probably come in the form of Jey Uso’s betrayal of Zayn and showing loyalty to The Bloodline. As a result, it would lead to a match between The Usos and Sami Zayn & Kevin Owens at WrestleMania 39 for the Tag Team Championships. Meltzer reported that it was indeed the original plan, but things have changed a lot in recent times. WWE is considering the fact that the former Intercontinental Champion has been getting unfathomable support from the fans.

However, the report added that there has been no change in plans as of yet. But it is interesting to note that the former NXT star has been getting massive attention from WWE fans. In addition to that, he has especially made his name on the list of the Top 5 merchandise sellers lately. The company considers those superstars who are among the top merchandise sellers to be big names in the future.

Meltzer said that the company is therefore aware of the fact that Sami is a big draw considering how over he is among the fans. He also added that the possibility that Zayn might win at the Elimination Chamber could not be ruled out. In case it happens, he called it a “late deviation from the script.”

According to Meltzer, WWE’s Head Of Creative, Triple H, is in a quandary and may be considering changing his plans. Moreover, he said that Vince McMahon has done this several times in the past. Under his regime, the company changed their plans at the eleventh hour following the enormous support from the fans for a superstar. ‘The Yes Movement in 2014‘ and ‘KofiMania in 2019’ are the two prime examples of it. However, Meltzer said that WWE might be thinking about going in this direction yet again.

It would be interesting to see whether Triple H listens to the fans or sticks with his original plans. However, The Elimination Chamber would provide a clear picture of Zayn’s creative direction heading into WrestleMania 39.

Moreover, it is noteworthy to mention that Zayn is one of the few superstars who is fan-made. The former Intercontinental Champion would face Roman Reigns at the Elimination Chamber in his hometown of Montreal. Therefore, WWE fans are rooting for their hometown hero to dethrone the Tribal Chief.
