WWE is known to eliminate former superstars from its history if they leave the company on bitter terms. Superstars like Sasha Banks, Steve Austin, Brock Lesnar, CM Punk, and many others have been subjected to such treatment. As it turns out, ahead of Money in the Bank, Jon Moxley is also slowly being erased from WWE’s history.

Jon Moxley, who was known as Dean Ambrose in WWE, has been one of the biggest superstars in the last decade. Debuting with Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns in 2022 as The Shield, the trio took over the industry for years. However, Ambrose left WWE in 2019 and joined AEW. It looks like Jon Moxley has no plans of returning to WWE any time soon, as he looks content with his role in AEW.

WWE is scheduled to go to London for its annual Money In The Bank event. The company is promoting its upcoming event in full force through social media. They posted a video featuring all the superstars who won the MITB briefcase and cashed it on the same night. However, to the surprise of the fans, the video did not include Dean Ambrose. The 37-year-old was part of an epic night when he cashed in the briefcase on his Shield mate, Seth Rollins.

There is no mention of Dean Ambrose in the video posted by WWE, which indicates that they are trying to eliminate Ambrose from their history. Moxley left the company in 2019 on bad terms. He was not satisfied with the treatment he was receiving at the company. The Lunatic Fringe was very popular among the fans, who wanted Ambrose to be the top superstar. But WWE had other plans, and hence Ambrose slid down the ranks.

Money In The Bank 2016 would be known to wrestling fans for one thing, primarily. On the night, all members of The Shield held the WWE Championship by pinning each other for victory. All members of a group have not held the championship on the same night ever since or even before that. Therefore, it has a special significance for the win.

Roman Reigns was set to defend his WWE Championship against Seth Rollins. Rollins won the match after pinning Reigns in convincing fashion, receiving a loud reaction from fans. On the same night, Dean Ambrose also won the MITB Briefcase. The winner of the briefcase can cash it in at any time of his choosing. Therefore, Ambrose chose to do it on the same night.

He would cash the briefcase in on his former Shield mate, Seth Rollins, to a thunderous reaction. Ambrose won the championship from Rollins and became the WWE Champion for the first time. During this title reign, Ambrose defended his title against both Shield members in an iconic match at Battleground. He later lost the title to AJ Styles at Backlash.
