Disappointing update on Roman Reigns’ WWE plans following his LA Knight showdown at Crown Jewel
The Head of the Table will go into yet another hibernation mode after Crown Jewel.

If Roman Reigns‘ part-time schedule was already enough, guess what? It’s going to get worse. At Crown Jewel, he has to defend his Undisputed WWE Universal Championship against LA Knight. The betting odds heavily favor The Tribal Chief and point towards easy retention of his title. But the question is, what’s after Roman’s highly anticipated showdown in Riyadh?
Roman Reigns will not wrestle past Crown Jewel unless anything changes. Dave Meltzer of WON is reporting that it comes as a surprise, considering he’s not scheduled to work Survivor Series. Being one of the “big four” WWE PLEs, fans were expecting to see Reigns wrestle at the event in Chicago. However, it doesn’t appear to be the case.
Moreover, that might bring an end to Roman’s paltry WWE schedule this year. Once he supposedly gets the megastar known as LA Knight, Reigns might sit home until the onset of the new year. Having said that, his next title defense would probably be at the Royal Rumble. That’s a long time to go, and fans are only going to grow furious over this. By the end of 2023, Reigns will have defended the gold a subdued five times, barring a few live events.
It’s an astonishing statistic to look at. The only thing WWE would be able to achieve by keeping Reigns off television is to extend his reign as the World Champion. He’s already at 1157+ days holding that title, and it seems good to close in on an impressive 1200 days. It’s a feat no one has been able to accomplish in the modern era. However, it has come in a highly controversial fashion.
LA Knight is sick of Roman Reigns’ exaggerated title reign
If getting brutally honest is an art, LA Knight seems to be the Picasso of it. He became the voice of WWE fans during a candid interview with Kayla Braxton on WWE: The Bump. Just days before he steps into that ring with Roman Reigns, The Megastar completely lashed out at his opponent. He brought up the glaring issue of Roman’s infrequent title defenses.
My assessment is everybody’s sick of that. Here’s a guy, he’s got about one title defense every three, four months? Four defenses a year & we’re celebrating the fact that he’s been champion for 1,200 days?LA Knight on Roman Reigns via The Bump
Knight wondered why WWE is celebrating Reigns’ insurmountable feat the way they’ve been doing. In reality, he’s sparsely keeping his gold up for grabs, say once every three months. The Defiant One was sick of how everyone’s glorifying The Tribal Chief’s run at the top, which has its loopholes.
