Last year, the WWE Universe witnessed several big names getting released from the company. Nic Nemeth, aka Dolph Ziggler, was one of them. It seems that the Showoff has finally decided to come out of his momentary exile. The 43-year-old made a surprising appearance at NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 18.

The former World Heavyweight Champion was spotted in the crowd, sitting with his brother, Ryan Nemeth. The camera highlighted them after the NEVER Openweight Championship match, which was won by Tama Tonga. He sat in the VIP section to see Guerillas of Destiny and Bishamon clash for the IWGP Heavyweight and NJPW Strong Openweight Tag Team Championships.

Outside WWE, Ziggler has spent his time doing comedy shows on the road and producing ‘Hunkamania’ alongside his brother. It remains unknown why he made his appearance in Japan. Moreover, with his non-compete clause out of effect, he might be scouting competition in the Japanese promotion.

For those who don’t know, Ziggler was released by WWE in September 2023. It was one of the most shocking decisions that ended a nearly two-decade-long spell with the Stamford-based company. Ziggler will wrestle 21-time WWC Universal Heavyweight Champion Ray Gonzalez on January 20 in Puerto Rico. It will be his first match since facing JD McDonagh in May 2023 on Monday Night Raw.

Details on Dolph Ziggler’s further plans outside of WWE

Dolph Ziggler is looking forward to shaking things a bit after spending his prime in WWE. The merger with UFC and the formation of the TKO Group didn’t come as good news for the Showoff as he got released among 100 other employees. It seems the World Wrestling Council’s Euphoria event won’t be the only one hosting him.

The veteran will be there in Philadelphia during the WrestleMania weekend in April. He will make his appearance at WrestleCon. Moreover, they confirmed his appearance on their social media account, hyping up the debut of the 43-year-old wrestler.

Previously, Dana Brooke has also teased an appearance at the event. WrestleCon has emerged as one of the biggest forums for wrestlers seeking to make their mark outside of the major promotions. Interestingly, fans also throng there to see their favorite stars up close.
