“I’ve been very lucky” – Dolph Ziggler discloses details on his retirement from wrestling
Dolph Ziggler in WWE
Dolph Ziggler is one of best performers that the company has ever got and he deserves all the praise for his incredible tenure in the WWE. Even though Dolph Ziggler has been a two-time World Heavyweight Champion, he has not got the push that he deserves and since his World Heavyweight Championship loss in 2013, he competed mostly as a mid-carder and held the World title after nearly 9 years, he won the NXT Championship this year in March by beating Bron Breakker. Ziggler lost the championship to Breakker in April on RAW.
Dolph Ziggler was recently involved in a brief feud with Austin Theory, where he would interrupt during Austin’s matches and attack him. The feud ended when Austin defeated Dolph on August 15 edition of RAW. Currently Dolph Ziggler isn’t involved in any feud and he hasn’t been seen much on the main roster in recent weeks.
In a recent interview Dolph stated that he wants to face Shinsuke Nakamura in an MMA style match at the WrestleMania. In a recent interview with Cleveland’s Morning News with Wills and Snyder, Dolph Ziggler spoke about his retirement from wrestling.
In his 18-year career, he said that he has been fortunate to not have undergone any significant surgeries, and that all of the minor operations he had were related to his collegiate wrestling career. Dolph said he doesn’t want to stop but that he would have to at some point; however, that time is certainly not now.
“It really depends. The healthiest people in the world, sometimes it doesn’t work. Some people have re-occurring injuries. I’ve been very lucky. Going on 18 years, no major surgeries. Any kind of surgery I got, it was from wrestling in college. I’ve been lucky. I don’t ever want to stop. One day I’ll have to, but it sure as hell won’t be now.”
Dolph Ziggler heaps praise on Mandy Rose
During a recent appearance on Casual Conversations, Dolph Ziggler noted that he has previously worked with Mandy Rose, and that she was continually finding out her persona and some things throughout his time with her. Dolph stated it was fantastic to watch Mandy Rose’s growth in her entrance, mic abilities, and segments. Dolph Ziggler stated that he was blown away by Mandy’s great progress because he had just worked with her 6 months prior, and it is what kept him following WWE NXT.
