WrestleMania is getting one step closer with each episode of Raw and SmackDown. The storylines have taken pace, and the feuds have become more intense. This week on SmackDown, Dominik Mysterio once again humiliated his father when he uttered some grating words. It added fuel to the storyline between the father and son ahead of the Grandest Stage of Them All.

Rey Mysterio is one of the most iconic names in the pro wrestling industry. WWE announced that the legendary Luchador is the first inductee in the 2023 Hall of Fame class. However, Mysterio appeared this week on SmackDown to a warm reception from the fans. There were chants of “You deserve it” throughout the arena. Before the Luchador could say anything, Dominik Mysterio and Judgment Day interrupted the WWE legend.

Dominik said to Rey that he was ashamed of being his son and had humiliated his own father in the ring. Expressing his disappointment, he said that WWE shouldn’t have inducted the luchador into the Hall of Fame. Besides, the Modern Day Latino Heat competed in a 6-Men tag team match at SmackDown this week. However, after the match, Dominik once again wasn’t reluctant to embarrass the Master of 619 in the middle of the ring. Things became more intense when Dominik said, “At the end of the day, I should have been Eddie’s son.”

The bold statement left Rey Mysterio completely devastated in the middle of the ring. It wrapped him up in a poignant situation in front of thousands of fans in the arena. Moreover, the 25-year-old has been hovering over his head for a long time. He never stepped back from mortifying the legacy of his legendary father. The WWE Universe caught a glimpse of this when the modern-day Latino Heat referred to the late Eddie Guerrero on this week’s segment.

Therefore, the segment on SmackDown escalated the storylines between the father and son. It seems inevitable that the storyline would culminate in a match between the two at the Grandest Stage of Them All. From winning the Royal Rumble to becoming the World Heavyweight Champion, he has done it all. Moreover, he won the US Title and the Intercontinental Title two times in his career. Mysterio is the 21st Triple Crown and Grand Slam Champion. He won the Royal Rumble in 2006. Besides, the Master of 619 has been the tag team champion multiple times in his career.
