“I had to match my dad’s energy,” Dominik Mysterio reveals an absurd request WWE made to him during his early days

Dominik Mysterio is in an outright zone at present. He’s found an entirely different version of himself since joining forces with The Judgment Day. Fans have been really appreciative about Dom’s new character, since then. However, before turning heel after attacking his father Rey, the 25-year old was just trying to imitate his legendary dad.
It goes back to 2019 where young Dominik started to appear on WWE television. One of his very first encounters was against Brock Lesnar during an episode of Raw. After The Beast Incarnate physically tormented Rey Mysterio, Lesnar turned his attention towards his son and destroyed him. From the day Dominik began competing as a WWE Superstar, he followed the footsteps of his father Rey Mysterio and Uncle Eddie Guerrero.
Rey and Dom even captured the SmackDown Tag-Team Titles, back in 2021. But, once they lost, things fell apart. The creative department failed to execute any mind-boggling direction for Dominik. As a result, fans lost their interest in him as a character. Now, he recently recalled those days, and put some emphasis on what was told to him. So being said, the current Judgment Day stablemate was asked to smile more on-screen, back in the day. In an interview with Konnan on K100 podcast, Dom revealed the following,
“When I first started with my dad, it just seemed like an over-exaggerated version of me,” Dom said. “I’m very laid back and very calm, and I just felt like I had to match my dad’s energy. So it was always very like, always smiling because they were like, ‘Dude, you got a great smile, you gotta smile more.”

What’s next for Dominik Mysterio in WWE?
Last week on Raw, The Judgment Day’s Dominik Mysterio and Damian Priest won an all important Tag-Team turmoil. With this, they’re now set to face The Usos for the Raw Tag-Team Championship. Per Xero News, The Bloodline will confront The Judgment Day to open tonight’s Monday Night Raw episode.
Their match will likely be announced for next week’s Raw 30th Anniversary special. For months, the WWE Universe have been craving for these two factions to collide. Their quests are answered and everyone should prepare themselves for an epic showdown next week. Some reports even claim that Dominik and Priest will become the new Raw Tag-Team Champions.
