With WrestleMania just a couple of days away, WWE stars are promoting their matches in interviews and on social media. And one of those stars is Dominik Mysterio, who recently spoke about how working with The Judgement Day was better than working with his father, Rey Mysterio.
Dominik Mysterio is currently set to face his father, Rey Mysterio, in a singles bout at The Show of Shows. This Father vs. Son storyline has been going on for a long time, ever since Dominik’s betrayal at WWE Clash at the Castle.
In an interview with Firstpost, Dominik talks about the last time WrestleMania took place in Hollywood. At that time, his dad, Rey Mysterio, fought against Eddie Guerrero, who was a part of the infamous storyline involving Dominik at that time. When asked about what led to his matchup with his father, Dominik said that working with Rey was an extremely “frustrating” experience.
“It was very frustrating to work with my dad coz he didn’t always understand where I came from or what I wanted, or understood what was going through my head. But, don’t get me wrong, I did enjoy the time when I was able to soak in all the knowledge from him, but I think it’s different being able to work with a group like the Judgment Day because we’re not family but we are like one. We treat each other like family, we all hang out, we’re like family, so I think the dynamic there is definitely of a family dynamic. It just definitely works out for us”, said Dominik.
According to him, it was a better experience working with The Judgment Day than with his father. They all communicated and treated each other like equals. His teammates understand the stakes and work on creating opportunities for each other. Dominik definitely had a hard time walking in his father’s footsteps. He has come a long way from just being “Rey Mysterio’s son”.

The History between Dominik and Rey Mysterio
Dominik Mysterio made his in-ring debut in WWE against Seth Rollins in 2020. He eventually teamed up with Rey, and the father-son duo went on to win the SmackDown Tag Team Championship. However, this relationship would soon come to an end when Dominik turned on his father by attacking him and Edge at Clash at the Castle. He then joined the villainous stable of Judgment Day (Finn Balor, Damian Priest, and Rhea Ripley).
Since then, Dominik has called out Rey Mysterio every week, demanding a match. Rey turned him down every week, saying it would be the greatest disgrace for a father to fight his son. Rey finally snapped when Dominik insulted his mother and sister. He punched Dominik, saying that their match was on. Soon, a match was made official, and now Rey Mysterio looks to teach his son a lesson at WrestleMania.
Everyone knew that their feud would end with a match at WrestleMania. However, it was worth waiting weeks for the storyline to develop between them. It’s one of the most anticipated matches, as fans look forward to the end of the father-son rivalry.
