Over the past few months, Drew McIntyre has elevated his game to a whole new level. Engaging in stellar promos with the likes of Cody Rhodes, CM Punk, and Seth “Freakin” Rollins, McIntyre has demonstrated his prowess as a main event heel. Recently, The Scottish Warrior made headlines by sidelining an injured Punk, proudly boasting about it during an appearance on The West Post’s WWE Path to Perth.

McIntyre accused Punk of being selfish. He described how The Second City Saint leapfrogged deserving superstars for the WrestleMania main event. As such, he felt obligated to intervene, seeing Punk’s actions as unfair and self-serving. As fate would have it, McIntyre’s prayers were answered, enabling him to remove The Straight Edge Superstar from the Road to WrestleMania.

Leapfroging superstars, try to take their spot at WrestleMania, specifically my spot at WrestleMania, I was never gonna let it happen. And I took him out and I wanted to let him know that I prayed for this and it happened.

The Second City Saint suffered a triceps injury during the Royal Rumble. Later, CM Punk had to go for surgery. After delivering the heartbreaking update, McIntyre interrupted the segment and took him out by sowing the seeds of a future showdown. It seems WWE is planning a major feud between the two, with The Scottish Warrior constantly mocking and name-dropping Punk. He continuously refers to himself from time-to-time as “DM Hunk”.

The Chosen One openly discusses his actions, proudly admitting to injuring his fellow wrestlers. According to reports, Drew has not signed a contract. However, it appears that he will re-sign since a reckoning between him and Punk is imminent.

Will CM Punk host WrestleMania 40?

At the WrestleMania XL Kickoff Media Event conference, CM Punk, alongside Pat McAfee, Michael Cole, and Big E, caught everyone’s attention with pointed remarks aimed at The Rock. Punk suggested Cody Rhodes should have countered Rock’s slap with a punch, sparking excitement among fans for potential future storylines.

With Punk out with a triceps injury, the WWE Universe wants the former World Champion to host WrestleMania XL. WWE could bring the 45-year-old superstar to feature him on their biggest PLE of the year. Judging by the huge crowd response Punk receives, fans might get their voices heard and get the controversial superstar as the host.

Last year at WrestleMania 39, Snoop Dogg and The Miz served as the hosts. WWE did not announce their roles, although Dogg was announced earlier. Similarly, the Stamford-based promotion might swerve the audience by playing Cult of Personality to light the crowd up at the Grandest Stage of Them All. Only time will tell whether Punk will get to be a part of the big event or wait until he has recovered to return.
