“You’re Next”: Drew McIntyre all set to kick off a new feud

Drew McIntyre

Drew McIntyre is one of the biggest Superstars on the current roster. He has been on a dream run since Royal Rumble 2020 – which he won. The Scottish Warrior then went on to win the WWE Championship after pinning Brock Lesnar. He held the title for nearly an year – and has since had two successful reigns as the Champion.

But since losing the title to The Miz, McIntyre has failed to get his hands back on the WWE title. Recently, he concluded a long feud with Happy Corbin and Madcap Moss – post which fans expected him to go after the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns. But instead he kicked off a surprising rivalry against Sami Zayn.

Since the conclusion of Wrestlemania, a feud kicked off between Sami Zayn and Drew McIntyre. They collided twice in as many weeks – with the same conclusion. Zayn escaped on both the occasions. This led to a Lumberjack match on the latest episode of Smackdown – where somehow, Zayn managed to escape again.

Interestingly, as soon as Sami Zayn escaped, WWE official Adam Pearce came out to announce that next week he will again face Drew McIntyre, but inside the Steel Cage. That episode has already been taped this week – as WWE will be touring the United Kingdom next week.

But it seems like, the Steel Cage match will be the final encounter between these two Superstars. As the episode has been taped already, it has come to light that the Scottish Warrior will be facing a new opponent heading into Wrestlemania Backlash.

As per the reports from the recent taping for the upcoming episode of Smackdown, Drew McIntyre will be kicking off a feud against Drew McIntyre. The feud will begin during the contract signing segment for the Tag Team Title Unification match. Roman Reigns will be showing up to distract Randy Orton and Riddle.

As The Bloodline will get an edge in numbers, the Scottish Warrior will show up and go face to face against the Tribal Chief. It is quite likely that this will be leading to a match at Wrestlemania Backlash. Considering the stature of both these Superstars, the feud is likely to continue even after the PPV.
