Riding on the groundswell of the WWE Universe, Cody Rhodes had an eventful night on Raw this week. In the main event, he rekindled his beef with Shinsuke Nakamura in a Bull Rope match. Interestingly, the same rope that Cody’s father, Dusty Rhodes, used in his match against “Superstar” Billy Graham decades ago was in play last night. Enduring a misty tactic of Shin, Rhodes pinned him, following two Cross Rhodes.

And then he got blindsided by none other than Drew McIntyre. Earlier in the night, the Scottish Warrior interrupted Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins. After The Visionary tried to cajole Cody to pick him as his WrestleMania opponent, McIntyre crept in. Even though he was adroitly saying this for his own purpose, Drew said that Cody should focus on finishing his story rather than entertaining a thought to go after Rollins.

Seth argued that he already beat Drew a couple of times before, so he shouldn’t be considering a rematch. Coming after ever-so-hard on Rollins, The Scotsman said Seth too lost to Cody thrice and hence should abstain from having another crack at it. The segment ended with McIntyre hitting a Glasgow Kiss on the World Heavyweight Champion. However, Cody, like a true babyface, landed a couple of right jabs on Drew, and the latter evaded.

Cody should’ve known a receipt would be coming for him. And after he silenced Shin to close out the night, the big man from Scotland mauled him from behind. That’s how the show went off-air. A fan footage also evinced that WWE production advertently muted “Rocky Sucks” chants that broke out during Rhodes vs. Nakamura.

How did Cody Rhodes handled the Dwayne Johnson situation on Raw?

One has to believe that something’s fishy with the way WWE acknowledged the support Cody Rhodes has been getting since last Friday. Both Michael Cole and Pat McAfee didn’t refrain from mentioning how The Rock’s return has engendered controversy in the WWE Universe.

Moreover, the crowd in St. Louis even chanted “Rocky Sucks” when Cody was in there, just for Cole to wonder whether it was 1996. Throughout the show, WWE kept hyping the upcoming press event in Las Vegas this Thursday.

In a nutshell, the company aims to draw the curtains on everything that’s been going on right now at the presser. It also appears like Cody not elucidating his WrestleMania decision on Raw was WWE’s way to test the waters in regards to the massive backing he has gotten online in the past 72 hours.
