The biggest news for WrestleMania 40 thus far is the announcement of its Night 2 main event. Cody Rhodes, who won the Royal Rumble last month, has made his decision to go for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship. In order to have his rematch, Rhodes will be gunning for Roman Reigns in his consecutive Mania main event. Just like the majority of the WWE Universe, Drew McIntyre is also on Rhodes’ side and has posted his take with a throwback at his iconic ‘prayed for it’ line.

The Scottish Warrior took on X to post a picture in response to WWE’s post. McIntyre’s image showed his Monday Night Raw’s quote about CM Punk. It was the exact moment when McIntyre mentioned that he had prayed for Punk to get injured amidst their building tensions. The Second City Saint unfortunately tore his right tricep in the Rumble match due to Drew’s DDT.

The line came out pretty iconic and solidified McIntyre’s edgy heel persona. So thus, he had a callback to that statement, even to Cody. However, this time he meant it in a positive way and prayed for The American Nightmare to choose The Tribal Chief. All that so for him to challenge Seth Rollins at Mania.

The Shows of Shows is building up to be a magnum opus of all time. As of this writing, only two matches have been made official, and that too is a result of Rumble winners choosing their opponents. Bayley has decided to dethrone Iyo Sky and have her WrestleMania moment by winning the WWE Women’s Championship. While Roman vs. Cody is planned for now, a few twists and turns are expected in it.

Kofi Kingston has hilarious take on Cody Rhodes finishing the story at WrestleMania 40

The New Day constant Kofi Kingston is one of the most entertaining superstars in WWE. Kingston sticks to his swift moves in the ring while maintaining his comedic persona. A part of his hilarious approach was seen in WWE’s video posted in the first few days of 2024 when the stars shared their goals for the year.

Kofi was part of the video where he stated his motive to ‘finish the story’ when Cody Rhodes was around in the locker room. Rhodes came out to him and stopped him to have a hilarious moment overall. The same clip was posted on X recently and received a reply from the Kingster himself.

For the record, if it didn’t work out for Cody, I was fully ready to get up in there…

The leader of Kofimania stated that he was ready in case Cody had it messed up at WrestleMania 40 Kickoff. The decision lies in Rhodes’ favor, though as he favored finishing his story. He stuck to his original plan of facing Roman Reigns this year as a rematch for his last year’s loss.
