In 2021, Special Olympics announced former WWE superstar Drew McIntyre as their Champion Ambassador. The Special Olympics provides a global platform for millions of specially-abled athletes to showcase their unique abilities. Recently, WWE superstar McIntyre’s video album, “School of Strength: Class is Now in Session,” secured the honor of winning the ShareCare Awards 2023.

On October 4, ShareCare and Special Olympics’ official X handles took to their social media to make a formal announcement of this exemplary milestone. Drew McIntyre’s online workout program, School of Strength: Class is Now in Session, won the Share Care Awards in the Healthy Living category.

The 38-year-old superstar launched a program aiming to inspire specially-abled athletes to prioritize physical health and fitness. The series consists of ten exercises designed for easy learning and training at home.

McIntyre has been engaged with Special Olympics for over two years. He supported various campaigns and surprised Team USA at the Special Olympics 2023 in Berlin, Germany, earlier this year. This led to his recent appointment as the Global Ambassador for Special Olympics.

The Stamford-based promotion announced its international partnership with Special Olympics in the year 2016. Over the years, several WWE superstars have visited athletes with intellectual abilities in different countries. The superstars often engage the athletes with motivational speeches and also help them out in training and working out.

WWE superstar Drew McIntyre collaborated with several special athletes on several campaigns over the years before being announced as the Global Ambassador. In 2021, he challenged celebrities to include specially-abled persons in the Special Olympics’ social media program, “Challenge Expectations.”

McIntyre joined forces with Special Olympics athlete Alex Hannah to challenge his social media followers to jump rope for 30 seconds. The challenge quickly caught on and everyone started taking up the unique exercise challenge. The Scottish Warrior also visited the athletes at the Special Olympics 2023 in Berlin, Germany.

Special Olympics aims to give people with intellectual abilities meaningful training and valuable experience through numerous Olympic-styled sports. Some of the sports conducted in the global sports event include Bocce, Basketball, Soccer, Bowling, Handball, etc.
