After a recent change in character, Drew McIntyre has become one of the most prominent faces on Raw. He is greatly involved in the main event scene, and judging by the work he has done, there is no denying that The Scottish Warrior has come a long way. Recently, the former WWE Champion took to X to pull off a comedic stunt that left fans online ecstatic.
The 38-year-old wrestler uploaded a video on social media, appearing alongside Raw General Manager Adam Pearce. Pearce was seen scolding McIntyre for wearing a T-shirt mocking CM Punk. McIntyre complied by removing the shirt, only to reveal another one underneath. In response, the 45-year-old Pearce tripled the fine he had initially imposed on McIntyre.

The reason for imposing the fine on The Chosen One was his wearing of a shirt mocking CM Punk and lamenting his absence from the WrestleMania main event scene. For McIntyre, it’s a statement of pride in sidelining an already injured Punk from the Road to WrestleMania. Therefore, the WWE executive couldn’t allow him to boast about sidelining one of their most popular superstars from the show.
Despite not being a full-blown heel, the WWE Universe perceives The Scottish Warrior as one due to his self-proclaimed moniker “DM Hunk” filling in the shoes of The Best in the World. WWE appears to be hinting at a potential showdown between CM Punk and Drew McIntyre upon his return. This speculation arises from McIntyre’s frequent mentions of Punk, indicating a brewing rivalry between the two.
An in-depth look at the incredible character building of Drew McIntyre since his return
After getting pinned by Gunther at WrestleMania 39, it was rumored that WWE had seen the last of The Scottish Warrior. McIntyre proved the doubters wrong as he returned at Money In The Bank 2023 to feud with The Ring General. After being involved in a classic rivalry, his run got stale, and it was speculated that he would not re-sign and leave WWE for good.
Fast forward to Survivor Series, and McIntyre started teasing a character change and slowly turned into a notorious heel. In 2024, he has become a main event heel, attacking wrestlers after their match and sidelining a few with injuries. At last, WWE realized his potential and started projecting him as a formidable force to deal with.
After getting the required character work done, McIntyre is on his path to silence his haters. He wants to relive his WrestleMania moment of holding the gold in front of live fans. On the Road to WrestleMania 40, Drew has secured his spot at Elimination Chamber: Perth in Australia. It will be interesting to see whether the 2020 Royal Rumble winner gets to fulfill his destiny or becomes a hurdle in someone else’s.
