This week’s Raw was a packed show heading to the Royal Rumble. The stacked card featured some hard-hitting matchups and segments. The highlight of the show was the return of CM Punk. During the opening segment, Drew McIntyre addressed the loss he suffered last week before getting interrupted by the Best in the World. Following the face-off, the Scottish Warrior delivered a bold message to Punk.

The two stars had an interaction, which led to them developing animosity between them. A few moments later, McIntyre posted a picture of himself laying on the top rope with a caption greeting the Second City Saint by calling him a “kid.” Drew and Punk talked about the history between them, driving both to have bad blood for each other ahead of the Royal Rumble.

Moreover, McIntyre tried to bring down the Second City Saint by mentioning his departure from WWE in 2014. In all of this, the Voice of the Voiceless also dropped some heavy statements against the Scottish Warrior, claiming he was going to eliminate him last to win the Royal Rumble match.

This is not the first time the former WWE Champion has taken a shot at CM Punk since his return. The two stars had a rough face-off a few weeks ago on Raw. In essence, it looks like WWE has been planting seeds for a possible feud between the Scottish Warrior and the Best in the World sometime down the line in the future.

During the war of words, the 38-year-old superstar announced his entry into the Royal Rumble match. He announced he would win, and also eliminate the best in the world. Moreover, McIntyre looked confident for the Rumble, as he blamed the involvement of Judgment Day for his loss against Seth Rollins.

This year, it will be four years since Drew won the 2020 Royal Rumble match before main eventing WrestleMania 36. The win in January 2020 kicked off the best time of McIntyre’s WWE career, and he became the WWE Champion after defeating Brock Lesnar.
