The Clash at the Castle event saw Drew McIntyre failing to win the world titles from Roman Reigns. The match saw Drew McIntyre coming out to the ring with his old them Broken Dreams, while Roman Reigns walked alone unlike being accompanied by The Usos and Paul Heyman every time. The match was intense right from the beginning to the end, we also saw Karrion Kross causing distraction to Drew McIntyre during the early stages of match, which was an advantage to Roman Reigns.

The match saw counters from both the opponents to each ones moves, with once Reigns countering the Claymore kick into the Superman punch and Drew McIntyre breaking the Guillotine hold to spear the Reigns at the ringside barricade. Towards the end of the match, we saw Theory cashing in his MITB contract but was knocked out by Tyson Fury.

Thereafter both wrestlers were brawling in the ring and Drew McIntyre managed to hit a Claymore kick and spear and was on the verge of winning the match, when Solo Sikoa, the Usos’ younger brother and The Tribal Chief’s cousin, dragged the referee out, giving Roman Reigns time to recover and setting up a situation for him to spear Drew, thereby pinning the Scottish Warrior to win the contest.

Drew McIntyre says he can easily beat Roman Reigns without the Backup

During an appearance at WWE’s Clash at the Castle post show press conference, Drew McIntyre said that the match was a bit of physical back and forth for him but he had Roman Reigns very much in control and that without the backup could have easily beat him. Drew McIntyre said that the crowd was on his side and he loved every second of the match until Solo Sikoa’s interference.

Drew then joked that the family is big and he has to start going door to door around the world because you never know which family member would be interfering next during his matches. Drew McIntyre further joked that he would be knocking the Rock’s door very soon as he is Roman Reigns’ cousin.

“Like I said without the backup he belongs to me and it was very much a bit physical back-and-forth but he very much belonged to me. And the crowd was very much in my corner and I loved every second of it until the inevitable, he’s always got something up his freaking sleeve or Paul Heyman gifts him something or the family gifts him something. You know how big the family is. I mean, we’re gonna have to start going door to door around the world and pay some visits. So I don’t know, Hollywood here I come, I’ve been knocking on The Rock’s door soon.”

Drew McIntyre is said to get involved in a feud with Karrion Kross and the two would be facing each other at the Extreme Rules live event. Drew McIntyre had recently praised Karrion Kross by calling him a intelligent human being and can be compared to Roman Reigns, himself and the bigger guys.
