“No I do not. I don’t, man, I don’t. Guilty.”- When UFC fighter Dustin Poirier admitted that he’s not aware about Roman Reigns
Dustin Poirier and Roman Reigns
Roman Reigns has been on an extravagant run as the Undisputed Universal Champion of the World ever since unifying those title at this year’s Wrestlemania after defeating Brock Lesnar. Actually, previously Reigns held the Universal Championship which he won at Payback back in 2020 against The Fiend and Braun Strowman in a Triple-threat match, the fun fact is both of them are not even in WWE right now.
The Tribal Chief carried the company on his back during WWE’s Thunderdome Era delivering some of the all-timer championship matches against Daniel Bryan, Cesaro, Kevin Owens, Jey Uso and an unforgettable Champion vs. Champion Survivor Series match against Drew McIntyre. His first title defense in front of the live audience came in at Wrestlemania 37 where he put his gold on the line against the Rated-R-superstar Edge and Daniel Bryan in a Triple-threat contest.
The build up to this match was phenomenal as so was this match. As Roman said during his promos leading upto this highly anticipated bout, he smashed them, stacked them and pinned them at the same time putting each of them one over other to retain his championship. Few months later in July last year, WWE welcomed back their heart and soul, their fans back into the arenas after going almost 1.5 years without them.
Reigns didn’t stopped to continue pushing him to the limits as he delivered a classic against Edge at Money in the Bank after which John Cena made his WWE return to a deafening crowd pop and made his intentions clear about challenging the Tribal Chief next. But, he was not so enough to take care of him as Reigns beat him too at Summerslam, then came in Brock Lesnar and The Needle Mover overcame his brutality as well and currently is still holding all the gold at the moment.
Now, majority of the wrestling world has agreed to the change Reigns has brought in his character and transformed himself into a megastar due to which he’s massively grown his fanbase around the world.
Almost every man following sporting events might be very week aware of who Roman Reigns is even if that particular individual doesn’t watches WWE but that’s definitely not the case with UFC fighter Dustin Poirier as he revealed last year in an interview with Ariel Helwani on the MMA Hour saying he’s unaware of Roman Reigns and told not following WWE as a feeling of guilty. But, he was familiar with the legendary 16-time Champion John Cena.
“No I do not. I don’t, man, I don’t. Guilty.” I know that name, I know that name.” He said about John Cena.
