Dwayne Johnson is one of the most popular stars in the world and nobody can deny the fact that the Rock is one of the greatest Hollywood stars till date. The big man has been having one of the biggest times of his life with his movies breaking records and his companies growing with a lot of profits.
During an episode of his sitcom ‘Young Rock’, Johnson revealed that in his teenage, he was arrested multiple times due to some or the other reason. He revealed he was mostly arrested for hitting someone, or for theft which he used to do in some local shops to maintain his prestige. Here’s what he said on an episode of Young Rock:
”There are a lot of tourists that come into Waikiki and there’s a lot of money. A lot of foreign money that comes in, and we were part of a theft ring that would target those groups. We would target the money, we would target the high-end clothes and we would target the jewelry – turn around and sell it, best we could.”
”But, I still found time to go to the Boys Club every afternoon to hit the speed bag, hit the heavy bag, hit the iron. I was building my body because again, it’s that eviction mentality. But, I would still (expletive) around, get in trouble and get arrested. I got arrested eight or nine times I think by the time I was 17.” – AZCentral
Dwayne Johnson revealed why he used to steal things from local shops
Johnson also revealed the reason he used to steal things while he was in college. The megastar said that his parents were in a very humble condition when he was young and that he wanted to impress everyone in his college due to which he stole clothes which felt very cool for him.
“I started getting arrested for fighting, theft, all kinds of stupid [stuff] that I shouldn’t have been doing. We would target the money, we would target the high-end clothes and we would target the jewellery — turn around and sell it.”
