From WWE to Hollywood, Dwayne Johnson has taken the world by storm in whichever field he has stepped foot on. The Brahma Bull’s full-time WWE career lasted only six years. However, in that brief period, the former WWE Champion carved an everlasting legacy. Johnson, regarded as one of the all-time greats, recently shared an anecdote about his and his father’s complicated relationship.

The Rock was the first-ever guest on the newly launched “What Now?” podcast of Trevor Noah. While chatting on the show, Noah asked the former how his daughters had shaped his perception of masculinity and fatherhood. Answering the question, The People’s Champ reflected on his childhood with his father, Rocky Johnson, which was quite a rocky one.

The 51-year-old stated that his father’s perception and capacity for love were without limits and constraints. He substantiated his statement further by revealing that Johnson’s father himself had a rough childhood. Thus, he was brought up by his father sternly and seriously. Revealing how his father used to take him to the gym and wrestling schools, The Rock said that the former’s version of love was different.

But that's his version of love. So now years later, when I have the blessing to become a dad and to these beautiful three daughters. Man, I learned so much from my dad on work ethic, discipline. Respect is given when it's earned. Be proud of who you are. Be proud of your skin color. But at the same time, I also know what it is like not to be hugged or not to be kissed on the cheek.

The Hollywood star extended his gratitude to his father for imbibing valuable lessons in him about work ethics and discipline. However, he also stated that he knows how it feels to not be hugged or pecked by his father. As a result, he tries to give as much love and pampering to his daughters as he couldn’t receive in his childhood.

The Rock made a shocking revelation about how his father was on the streets by the age of 13. Not only did the young Rocky Johnson lose his father at that age, but he had to leave his own house.

The holiday that came up after his dad’s death, a new boyfriend is in the picture. Boyfriend gets drunk, pis*es on the turkey, and my dad’s 13. He grabbed a shovel, a big shovel, my dad did, and drew a line on the dirt and said if you cross that line, I’ll kill you. The as*hole crossed the line. He knocked him out, cold as a block of ice.

After the death of his father (Rocky Johnson’s father), the wrestling legend’s mother was dating a man. During the holiday season, one of her boyfriends visited their home in an inebriated state, infuriating the former. The WWE Hall of Famer knocked out his mother’s boyfriend with a shovel, prompting the cop’s involvement.

Later, the cops told his mother to choose between her son and the boyfriend. Unfortunately, Rocky Johnson’s mother picked the latter, asking her son to leave the house.
