Dwayne Johnson, a.k.a. “The Rock,” is one of the most influential names in the world. While speaking on “The Pivot Podcast”, Dwayne Johnson discussed his relationship with his late father, Rocky Johnson. He went on to recount a certain incident in Rocky’s life that made him homeless but also shaped him to a greater extent.

The Rock is one of the biggest names in pro wrestling. He had innumerable moments in WWE and solidified his legacy in the industry. The person who has always been an inspiration to The Great One is his late father, Rocky Johnson. During a recent podcast, The Rock revealed some interesting anecdotes about his father.

While speaking on “The Pivot podcast” The Rock recounted an incident when his father was 13 years old. He said it had been a year since his grandfather died, and there was a Christmas celebration at his father’s home. The Great One added that there was a new boyfriend of his grandmother who came to the feast. The man was drunk and peed on the turkey which made his father, Rocky Johnson infuriated. As a result, the two of them got into a fight.

Dwayne Johnson said, “My dad, at 13, he grabbed the shovel and laid him out cold as a block of ice. Cops came. As he was out, the cops looked at my grandmother and said, ‘When he gets up, one of two things are going to happen. Either he’s gonna kill him or he’s gonna kill someone. One of ’em got to go.’ And my grandmother looked at my dad and said, You’re out.”

The Rock went on to become a professional wrestler, winning multiple championships. He established himself as one of the most electrifying men in sports entertainment. Besides, his father, Rocky Johnson, also played a key role in training Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson and making him one of the most distinguished figures in every field he has been in.

Pro wrestling saved Dwayne Johnson’s relationship with his daughter, Simone Johnson

Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson’s family has been tied down to the wrestling business for a long time. His daughter, Simone Johnson, is carrying the same legacy forward. On a recent podcast with “The Pivot”, he explained how his relationship bloomed due to his daughter taking on pro wrestling as a career. The Great One opened up about his relationship with his elder daughter, Simone Johnson, a.k.a. Ava Raine. The Rock said that her daughter’s joining pro wrestling has benefited their relationship.

“So when I had Simone, I was flying by the seat of my pants…. I had so much shit going on so I like to say me and Simone grew up together. So we had a relationship where I was always gone..” he said. He further stated, “Now, years later, as she becomes a pro wrestler, it’s actually brought us closer together,… in many ways, pro wrestling has been my family’s savior.”

Simone Johnson officially signed with WWE in 2020 and has been a part of NXT with the faction “The Schism” since October 2022. However, she only wrestled in a single televised match. The WWE Universe believes that she will be one of the biggest names in the women’s division in the near future.
