Despite being a top star in the company, Drew McIntyre has lost some momentum as of late. Although, we’ve seen him getting involved in some high-profile feuds with the likes of Roman Reigns being the most significant one. They battled tooth and nail in Cardiff, back in September over the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship.

The Tribal Chief reigned supreme and came out victorious after one hell of a fight and a final minute assist from Solo Sikoa. Everyone inside the Principality Stadium thought the reign was over after McIntyre hit that final Claymore Kick to Roman. At the last possible second, referee got pulled out by Solo, hence saving the record-setting reign of his cousin.

Drew McIntyre gave it absolutely all but just fell short of rewriting history in his homeland. At the end of the day, he was just a man with broken dreams. Speaking of his continued struggles over the past few months in WWE on The Wrestling Outlaws, former superstar EC3 reaffirmed what had been going wrong with the Scottish Warrior as of late.

He praised both Roman and McIntyre for putting out a solid showing at Clash at the Castle, initially. For McIntyre, he’s already on that top spot requiring no character change or content progression, EC3 said. Mentioning a valid point, the latter said that sometimes just passion doesn’t works out. To reinvigorate oneself, you need that crowd support too.

The last I have seen of Drew [McIntyre] was at Clash at the Castle. Two studs [McIntyre and Roman Reigns] out there killing it in front of 60,000 people, a red-hot crowd…..He doesn’t need any change, context, or progression because he’s already been there; we know he’s our top guy. Sometimes you need something drastic to happen to reinvigorate yourself, not only your passion but also of the fans behind you.”

Continuing their personal saga even further, the Doomsday Karrion Kross will welcome Drew McIntyre inside of a steel-cage at Crown Jewel. The match came after Kross’ underhanded win at Extreme Rules in a Strap match. The Angel of Doom Scarlett played a defining role during the ending moments of that match as she recklessly sprayed over McIntyre’s face.

Now, the stipulation has been upgraded to a caged structure to avoid any kind of distraction from Scarlett once again. On a related note, the two men have been part of an embroiling rivalry. Ever since his return, Kross has been presented better than ever and he ain’t stopping anytime soon.

In Drew McIntyre’s context, he needs something to get going. Coming out of Extreme Rules with a humiliating loss may have provided a setback to him. We even saw him lose his damn mind over Kross two weeks ago on SmackDown when he attacked the former in parking lot. Nonetheless, this Saturday is a perfect opportunity for Drew McIntyre to pick up a much-needed win for himself.
