Edge announces he will RETIRE after winning the WWE World Heavyweight Championship

Edge desires to win the World Heavyweight Championship (via WWE)
Seth Rollins from Monday Night Raw has already qualified for the finals of the World Heavyweight Championship tournament. On the other hand, SmackDown will have two triple-threat matches and a semi-final match. One of the participants in those matches is WWE Hall of Famer Edge. He will square off against Rey Mysterio and AJ Styles in the World Heavyweight Championship tournament.
Ahead of his triple threat match on SmackDown, Edge addressed the WWE Universe on Twitter. The Rated-R Superstar posted a video and explained why it is important for him to win the World Heavyweight Championship. Moreover, he said that he plans on winning both matches on SmackDown to advance to the finals of the tournament to battle against his old rival at Night of Champions.
In the video, Edge recalled the time when he had to relinquish the World Heavyweight Championship. He said that he has an unfinished story that he would like to finish before bidding adieu to his iconic career. The Ultimate Opportunist settled on winning the championship, which he never lost in the first place.
He further said, “This ride is going to end sooner rather than later; let’s face it, we all know that. I’ve got to get this done. It’s the last thing to do, it’s the period at the end of the sentence. It’s the last sentence in the book.” He said that he would retire from his pro wrestling career after winning the World Heavyweight Championship. The Hall of Famer wants to finish his story before hanging up his boots once and for all.
Edge elevated Damian Priest, involving him in The Judgment Day
Being a part of the heel faction, The Judgment Day, Damian Priest emerged as a prominent star, giving the fans a glimpse of his charisma. Priest believed it was Edge who helped him unleash his potential. Moreover, he credited the Hall of Famer for showing faith in him and making him the kind of performer he is today.
The Judgment Day member recently spoke with Corey Graves and Kevin Patrick on After the Bell podcast. He revealed some interesting things during the podcast. Moreover, Priest discussed about how Edge helped him elevate his career in WWE.
Damian Priest said,“Man, what a wild year starting with Edge at last year’s WrestleMania. First of all, it was awesome, you know. Just the comfort that came with working with Edge at first, where he kind of instilled in me, and was like, ‘Hey, this is to build you and make you the star that I know you can be.”
