To everyone’s surprise, Edge returned to SmackDown this week and had an interesting segment. He is scheduled to celebrate his 25 years in WWE next week in his hometown of Toronto. However, the Rated-R superstar really got things going in Calgary last night. However, he didn’t come around to show his gratitude. Instead, Edge said that he would have a match next week. So he just wanted to introduce his opponent.

The Rated-R Superstar cut straight to the chase and revealed Sheamus as the one. Then, Edge took everyone down memory lane to enlighten the fans with an interesting story. It was all about who convinced him to consider a wrestling return. And, of course, that man was none other than The Celtic Warrior. The WWE Hall of Famer revealed that Sheamus invited him to his YouTube show, Celtic Warrior Workouts, which played a key factor in his WWE return.

During the mountain biking session, Edge realized he’s got a lot left to offer this business. After Sheamus inclined him towards believing in himself, the latter started getting back in shape. To accomplish that mammoth task, the Celtic Warrior moved to Edge’s place for quite a while. Also, they used to throw at each other on a daily basis, just to reignite that dormant soul inside the 11-time World Champion.

After weeks of tireless efforts, the Irishman was able to get Edge ready for his miraculous Royal Rumble return in 2020. Well, over 3.5 years have passed since then, and it still feels like yesterday. However, this story wasn’t publicly known before Edge spilled the beans on this week’s SmackDown. It is noteworthy that Edge and Sheamus have never had a singles match in WWE.

Apart from having a passionate segment with Sheamus on SmackDown, Edge also made a fan’s day. During the commercial break, Edge interacted with a kid named Jase. Actually, the little one has been suffering from sensory processing disorder. Due to that, his social interactions aren’t that fluent. However, on the occasion of his birthday and first WWE show, the fan received the best gift from the WWE legend.

Edge went to meet him at ringside and greeted him. Also, the Master Manipulator didn’t rush anything, and he let Jase speak at his own pace. Reacting to that moment on X, Edge noted that Jase did awesome. Also, he raved about moments like these being a reason for his longevity in this business. At the end, one thing’s clear: no matter if Edge’s retiring next week or not, he’s going to have one of his best matches against The Celtic Warrior.
