Back in 2021, Edge had talked about how much more years he would wrestle. He said that he wants to be an inspiration to young talents and make them desire to fight him. He stated that he doesn’t want top overstay and wants his time in WWE to be helpful. The Rated R Superstar has stated that while he wants to contribute to the organization, but at the same time he also wants to be honest with himself. He continued by saying that he would definitely put up his boots when his wife Beth told him that he was humiliating himself in the ring and that he couldn’t fight like he used to.

Edge developed a keen interest in wrestling at an early age, and he frequently went to the Maple Leaf Gardens in Toronto to watch matches with his childhood buddy and fellow wrestler Christian. He went to WrestleMania VI in the Toronto SkyDome in 1990 as a 16-year-old, sitting in the eleventh row at ringside. Edge also visited The Dini Petty Show in 1992, when Bret Hart appeared, and gained vital advice from the hitman. The Hall of Famer discussed the essential guidance he received from Bret Hart on the latest episode of ‘Biography WWE: Legends’ on A&E.

The Rated R Superstar said that the advice was important one as Bret was a WWF Champion at that time and was considered the best in the world. Bret Hart could not deliver a thorough response about a WWF career at the broadcast, but he made sure to speak with Edge afterward. Edge was encouraged by Hart and given information on where he might train, and the ultimate opportunist ended himself training at the Hart Dungeon. Edge now comprehends why Bret was unable to provide a thorough response and that one must continue to work hard.

“It was massive because he was WWF champion at that point. It was huge. And I considered him the best in the world, so for me to get that encouragement and also understanding that he couldn’t give me the answers to the test because there weren’t any answers, and there aren’t really any answers,” he said. “You just have to go keep plugging away.”

The Rated R superstar is set to fight Damien Priest in his hometown of Toronto on RAW next week.
