Matt Hardy began his WWE career at a same time as “The Rated R” Superstar made his debut. Matt Hardy started his in ring career in WWE with his brother Jeff and the two were soon joined by Lita, who would assist them during their matches as well as pursue her singles career. Matt and Lita soon began dating and deepened their relationship in 2-3 years. The Cracks began in their relationship when the hardy boys went to perform as singles and when in 2004, matt hardy was sidelined and off the road for almost a year.

During this time Lita began an affair with Adam Copeland, also known as Edge. Matt found out about their affair and made the whole thing public on social media. The WWE wasn’t pleased by Matt airing their Dirty Laundry and released him due to his unprofessional behavior. Matt was then involved in independent circuit but his name would be chanted in the WWE, with fans even filing a petition to get Hardy his Job back.

Matt Hardy then made an unexpected comeback to WWE, and their real-life narrative was incorporated into a WWE Kayfabe. In their first encounter, Edge prevailed over Hardy at SummerSlam 2005. Following this, a Street Fight on Raw came to a no-contest conclusion, Hardy earned his lone victory in the feud in a Cage Match at Unforgiven 2005 and their last encounter was on RAW in a “Loser Leaves Raw” Ladder Match which was won by Edge. Edge triumphed throughout the entire conflict, and Matt never quite got his revenge.

Back in May this year, Edge appeared on the Kurt Angle show and shared his views on the Love triangle Storyline he was involved in, He stated that he did not appreciate being a part of the “Love Triangle” storyline and that it was difficult for him to execute it, but then he thought of making some money and trying to make something good out of this bad situation. Edge finished by adding that the matchups with Matt Hardy were terrific and that he enjoyed working with him.

“I think when everything with Matt [Hardy] and [Lita], I didn’t enjoy any of that, that was hard. It was a position that I put myself in and thought okay, I made my bed, I just got to deal with this. Then I thought okay, we’re here now, how can we pull a positive? Let’s make some money. That’s what we did. This is the situation, now let’s try and get something good out of this pretty lousy scenario. The matches were [good] though because I loved working with Matt,” revealed Edge.”

All three of them were able to craft a unique narrative that people enjoyed because of the genuine emotions involved in the matter. Their battles were violent but professional, and the three of them deserve respect for demonstrating that a terrible circumstance can be turned into a positive.
