Even after a swashbuckling start to her WWE career, Ronda Rousey never quite struck the right buttons. Most of her accolades were already under her belt before she first left the company due to maternity reasons. But when she returned in 2021, fans’ interest in Rousey nosedived, and she developed quite a few critics. And WWE Hall of Famer Eric Bischoff seems to be one of them.
In the latest episode of his 83 Weeks podcast, the Eazy E called Ronda Rousey overrated. Though Eric did credit Rousey for her MMA legacy, the former WCW EVP affirmed that Ronda never took WWE by heart. On a personal note, The Arm Collector’s work never clicked for Eric Bischoff. Moreover, he even admitted that WWE’s way of booking her led to Rousey’s debacle in this industry.

I don't want to say overrated, but I think in terms of the professional wrestling industry, she's overrated. Phenomenal athlete, but she never clicked for me in WWE despite a push from the gods! By nature, I think she's more of a heel than a babyface. That could have been a reason why she didn't resonate with the audience or me.Eric Bischoff on Ronda Rousey
Eric thought that it would’ve been a better idea to let Ronda act like ‘The Baddest Woman on the Planet’. Instead, WWE immediately handed her a babyface role that didn’t take long to backfire. Following her initial exploits in the company, the fans turned their backs on the former UFC Bantamweight Champion. And despite endless efforts, Rousey never transitioned into a despicable heel either.
Ronda Rousey recently made her debut for Ring of Honor
On the latest episode of Ring of Honor, Ronda Rousey will make her official debut for the promotion. In the process, she’ll team up with her longtime friend Marina Shafir to take on ROH Women’s Champion Athena and Billie Starkz. Well, the match has already been done and dusted, as AEW taped the said ROH episode last week itself.

After the Full Gear pay-per-view, Tony Khan answered the burning question of Ronda Rousey’s status with either AEW or ROH. Khan affirmed that he had a great conversation with Ronda, but she’s not signed as of yet. The AEW President then highlighted the positive reaction Rousey got at the ROH tapings.
She's not signed but we had a great conversation. It came about, of course, there was some unfinished business, they had that match and I thought it would be great for our fans to settle it in the ring.Tony Khan on Ronda Rousey via Full Gear media scrum
The AEW CEO detailed Rousey’s residence’s vicinity from the location of their tapings, which eventually contributed to the easygoing of things. It would be interesting to see whether she ends up joining the Jacksonville-based promotion shortly.
