“SummerSlam looking crazy!!” – WWE Universe erupts as former WWE Champion returns at Money in the Bank 2023 and mercilessly destroys Gunther
The WWE Universe reacted to Drew McIntyre's return at Money in the Bank as he confronted Gunther, claiming his Intercontinental Championship.

The third match in the Money in the Bank event came out to be a hard-hitting bout between Matt Riddle and Gunther. With the Intercontinental Championship on the line, The Ring General defended his title against The Original Bro in a grueling match. The end of the match was followed by the return of Scottish Warrior Drew McIntyre who confronted Gunther and delivered a Claymore.
As Riddle entered first, gaining a babyface reaction from the crowd, Gunther came after a grand introduction by Imperium members. The match started with Riddle showing his agility and putting Gunther in a sleeper hold. As he continued showing off his quickness, Gunther’s single chop broke his momentum.
Matt tried to chop Gunther instead to prove his dominance, but those chops lasted only a few. The result of this attack was The Ring General targeting Matt’s left ankle. He removed the protective tape over Riddle’s ankle and kicked on it. The match saw many highs and lows but was dominated by Gunther because of Riddle’s ankle injury.
After Gunther’s thunderous chops on Riddle, he again targeted the latter’s ankle and held him in an ankle lock. After tolerating his vicious attacks, Riddle finally tapped out and lost the match after a tough fight. As Gunther raised his championship, Drew McIntyre‘s theme song hit, and he came down to the ring. McIntyre confronted The Ring General, followed by a Glasgow Kiss. Drew then applied his Claymore to Gunther and raised his Intercontinental Championship.

WWE Universe reacts to Drew McIntyre’s shocking return at Money in the Bank
The WWE Universe was left in shock as they witnessed Drew McIntyre’s return to WWE after months. The Scottish Warrior appeared for the first time since his Intercontinental Championship loss at WrestleMania 39. He surprised the fans after The Ring General defeated Matt Riddle.
Fans are all now hyped up for their match at WWE’s upcoming event SummerSlam. McIntyre will likely challenge Gunther in the next episode of Monday Night Raw.
