It takes a lot to win over wrestling fans—even a lifetime for some. Having said that, Raw Superstar, Maxxine Dupri recently bore the brunt of it. In one of the clips making the rounds on social media, the 26-year-old could be seen catching the ire of fans in attendance. Dupri was heavily booed out of the arena at a recent WWE live event, with some fans throwing “you suck” chants at her.
It must’ve been a rough night for The Alpha Queen. She’s been a mainstay on Raw for the past few months. Maxxine gained recognition once she joined The Alpha Academy. Initially, her gimmick was of a greenhorn who’s just about to pick up the nuances of in-ring repertoire. Dupri received vital lessons from group leader Chad Gable, and the fans appreciated how WWE was trying to establish her on the red brand.
Back in August, she made her WWE in-ring debut on Raw against Valhalla. Dupri did not let her mentor down as The Alpha Queen ousted the eerie Viking. At first, Maxxine’s in-ring fumbles were not to be taken seriously as Dupri was still a novice in kayfabe. However, a lot of work had yet to be done. On the December 11th edition of Raw, she went up against Rhea Ripley.
As motivated as Maxxine was for the biggest match of her career, The Eradicator toyed with the female Alpha Academy member. It might take some grueling sessions at the Performance Center for Dupri to hone her in-ring attributes.
What was Maxxine Dupri’s “pinch me” moment in WWE?
Even though Maxxine’s in-ring outings are not something to be amazed about, there have been instances where the ex-Maximum Male Models member has shown promise. Back on the November 20th episode of Raw, she joined forces with Ivy Nile.
They battled Kayden Carter and Katana Chance, Tegan Nox and Natalya, and Candice LeRae, and Indi Hartwell in a Fatal-4-Way match to determine the No. 1 contenders for the Women’s Tag Team titles. A spot came when Maxxine Dupri did a suicide dive from the top rope onto her opponents.
That was not on my bingo card for that Monday.
I can't sit here too long and overthink it I got to just full send it and go. Then afterwards, it's like the best feeling.Maxxine Dupri via the Lighweights Podcast
And that was something she described as a “pinch me” moment in an interview with Lightweights Podcast. The 26-year-old said that it wasn’t on her bingo card. But after she was able to execute the maneuver, it was the best feeling.
