There has been a saying that good things come to those who wait. Well, it appears Triple H’s words didn’t apply to LA Knight. This week on SmackDown, the self-proclaimed megastar once again fell short in a high-stakes matchup. The show kicked off with the US Title Invitational Fatal four-way showdown. With Austin Theory having a seat at ringside, the participants kept entering.
Arriving last among Rey Mysterio, Sheamus and Cameron Grimes, LA Knight once again blew the roof off the Amway Center in Orlando. Before the in-ring action got underway, Knight did what he does best and delivered yet another classic promo. Fans were confident that it was going to be his night. However, it looks like Triple H presumably has different plans.
During the closing moments, Austin Theory started unloading on Rey Mysterio. To aid his mentor and LWO leader, Santos Escobar came running down. He fended off the United States Champion and cleared the path for Rey to grab a huge victory in the match. That being said, LA Knight’s fans got their hearts shattered once again.
With this loss, Knight might be ruled out of featuring on this year’s SummerSlam card. There were millions of fans praying around for the Megastar to eventually be the next United States Champion. However, LWO’s Rey Mysterio and Santos Escobar will be the one to get a shot for the title.
They’ll battle it out next week to determine who’s going to challenge Austin Theory for the coveted gold. It is noteworthy to mention that Escobar pinned Theory in a non-title match last night on SmackDown.
WWE fans are perplexed over LA Knight’s miserable booking of late

Not just this week, WWE has been screwing up LA Knight for months now. Before this, he was a top contender to clinch this year’s Money in the Bank contract. Despite the unanimous crowd support, the higher-ups didn’t pull the trigger on him. The wounds were yet to heal, and Knight bowed out of US Title contention this week, adding to almost everyone’s disdain.
At this point, the situation seems quite ambiguous for Knight’s future on the main roster. Despite being the leading merchandise seller at present, WWE seems to ignore his infectious bubble. Boozer 666 has reported behind his private Twitter account that a new push for LA Knight is set to begin after SummerSlam. Only time will tell how much truth lies in it.
