Last night’s NXT: Vengeance Day was an eventful one, to say the least. After Trick Williams failed to capture the NXT Championship from Ilja Dragunov, everyone thought that it was the end. Nonetheless, Carmelo Hayes finally turned on his long-term partner, Trick Williams, to take the night off the air. However, one thing that sparked a massive debate on social media was the cryptic vignette that was aired during the show.

Upon further probing, it turned out to be a famous Japanese aphorism. It says that the Japanese people believe a man has three faces. The first one is open to see for the public. The second is only for close ones, and the third is something meant to stay under wraps. For what it’s worth, WWE fans are speculating that former NJPW Superstar Kazuchika Okada is the one behind that vignette. It’s merely a fantasy at this point.

Okada became a free agent on February 1 of this year. Reports from Fightful Select suggest that at least some talks have happened between WWE and Okada’s representatives. However, the outlet stated that AEW firmly believes that they’ll land The Rainmaker eventually. The company is confident to the point where some tentative plans to debut Okada were already in place over the previous month.

The mentioned cryptic vignette at Vengeance Day could lead to Kazuchika Okada’s WWE debut, or it could simply be meant for someone else. But given that everything translates to a Japanese proverb, the rumors are leaning toward a prospect from Japan. At this point, there is absolutely no confirmation as to where Okada will go, but he’s expected to make his decision soon.

Fans have mixed opinions about the mastermind behind the cryptic Vengeance Day vignette

It might take a few weeks for the fans to know who was behind the vignette last night. Despite the ambiguous nature of the tease, internet geeks are coming up with multiple names. There’s an abundance of reactions and some of them are listed below.

Most of the fans think that Kazuchika Okada could be the one who’ll be unveiled in the upcoming weeks on NXT. However, some contradictory claims suggest that Okada is too big to debut on WWE’s developmental territory, as the fans argued.

Some even wondered whether the vignette was to re-introduce Uncle Howdy on television. A fan also suggested that it may be time for Jacob Fatu, one of Roman Reigns‘ cousins. Recently, NXT commentator Booker T revealed that he’s pushing hard for Fatu to get signed to WWE.
