It was in December 2017 when WWE organized its live event in the Indian capital of New Delhi. As WWE superstars were gearing up for their visit to India, Irish superstar and former WWE Universal Champion Finn Balor had expressed his thoughts on cricket and former Indian national cricket team captain Virat Kohli.

Former WWE NXT champion and WWE Universal champion Finn Balor announced his wish to meet Indian cricket team captain Virat Kohli and conduct a practice match with him ahead of WWE’s 2017 tour to India. He also expected the right-hander to teach him a few tricks and the game’s rules. Balor, who hails from Ireland, where cricket is rapidly gaining popularity, acknowledges that he knows little about the sport and has never seen much of it before. His statement recently went viral on the internet. Let us take a look at what he had to say ahead of his 2017 India tour.

Balor said, “I’d love to meet the captain of the Indian cricket team. I think he is kind of badass and everything (laughs)…You know, I’d actually love to play a practice match and if he could show me a few tricks and teach me the laws of the game which I missed out on. I think it would be fun to have a couple of rounds with him.”

He continued, “I absolutely have no idea about the game, never seen much of cricket. I’ve seen a little bit on TV against Australia. I know Ireland have been doing quite well recently. I’ve been in Japan and America for the last 15 years, so it’s not something I’ve had much of an opportunity to witness. But obviously, I’m proud and would love to see Ireland and India in the future.”
