“My WIFE got dragged into that same”- Finn Balor recalls about the most challenging period of his life

Finn Balor is one of the most talented wrestlers in the current roster of the WWE. Balor is the inaugural winner of the Universal Championship, which he had won after beating Seth Rollins at the SummerSlam 2016. Balor, despite being in excruciating pain had managed to defeat Rollins at the event. Finn Balor had to vacate the title due to the injury and since then he hasn’t been able to get his hands on the bely again. Balor’s recent attempt for the title was at Extreme rules 2021, where he was defeated by Roman Reigns. He had recently expressed his desire for a rematch against Roman Reigns.
Finn Balor has established himself as one of the prominent superstars of WWE and is a fan favorite, with many members of the WWE Universe wanting him to win the World Title again. We hope that Balor gets his chance soon enough, now that Triple H being the head of creative. Finn Balor is currently a part of the Judgement Day faction and the faction is involved in a feud with The Mysterios and their former leader Edge, whom they had ousted from the group. They were defeated by the Mysterios at SummerSlam this year, where Edge too marked his return and assisted the Mysterios.
Finn Balor had expressed his views on his wrestling career
During an interview with the Corey Graves on After The Bell Podcast, Finn Balor had spoke about his wrestling career and the money he gets from it. Balor stated that the money is insufficient for the wrestlers’ suffering and being apart from their families for 20 years. Balor remarked that he has wrestled his entire life and sometimes wonders if the money he earns is worth being away from his native country of Ireland for 20 years.
Finn Balor stated that in 10 years, when his family and friends pass away and his pals move on, would the money be worth the sacrifice he has made? He stated that the physical cost is secondary to the sacrifice of being away from his loved ones for 20 years.
Finn Balor was a guest on the latest edition of Out of Character with Ryan Satin, where he discussed on a variety of topics. One of which was how he suffered deeply during the pandemic. Finn Balor said that the pandemic was the most challenging period of his life and it wasn’t anything regarding his work but it was all personal. Balor revealed that he was locked in the US due to COVID, while also having some visa issues and couldn’t go to the embassy in Ireland to sort out the issues.
“It was the most mentally challenging period of my life without question. Not anything to do with work, it was all like personal stuff. Being land locked here in the US, I was also dealing with some visa issues too which couldn’t get resolved because I was landlocked in US because of COVID. You gotta go back and do it in the embassy in Ireland. So couldn’t do that.”
Finn Balor also revealed that his wife was dragged into the situation because she was on his visa, making it a very difficult situation for him. Balor stated that his father was ill and that he could not see him. He also stated that he was unable to visit his siblings as well as their children, who were newborns at the time and are now grownups.
“My wife got dragged into that same situation because she’s on my visa. It was super challenging. My dad had been sick, I couldn’t see my dad. Couldn’t see my brothers and sisters. Their kids just grew up. They were infants or they weren’t even born and now they’re like full grown humans. It was a tough time.”
The Judgment Day is speculated to be in action against Beth Phoenix, Edge and Rey Mysterio in a six-person mixed Tag match at the Clash at the Castle live event.
