The first Royal Rumble winner in WWE gets hospitalized, wife pens an emotional message on social media

WWE Hall of Famer, “Hacksaw” Jim Duggan is one of the most memorable patriotic gimmicks of WWF. The star became a big name in his era and defended America’s honor in the ring while gaining the massive support of the crowd. However, the recent news about the WWE legend has come on X where his wife has informed him about his low health and stated his hospitalization for surgery yesterday.
Debra Duggan, wife of Jim addressed Hacksaw’s situation on his behalf. A post on X had an image stating that the couple wanted to thank everyone who came out for Jim’s appearance in Glens Falls. However, she then mentioned the reason why Duggan had to leave early by stating, “Jim was taken to the hospital and admitted yesterday evening“. She added that an emergency surgery happened the next morning which went successfully.
The appearance of ‘Hacksaw’ came as Glens Falls Fire Department honored the Hall of Famer. They added him to the list of their noble ranks as an honorary member of the Glens Falls Firefighters Permanent Benevolent Association. Nonetheless, he only stayed till 3:30 pm and left for the hospital in an emergency. As a result, Debra has apologized to the people who came after 3:30 as they missed their chances to meet the first-ever Royal Rumble winner in person.
The post even stated that they would be rescheduling the meetup tomorrow in Utica, Michigan. Duggan is dealing with tough times because of his battle with prostate cancer but fans’ prayers provide him the power to fight back. The post ended with Debra thanking those fans’ prayers and stating to provide continuous about him.
8th of September named James “Hacksaw” Duggan Day
The city of Glens Falls in Warren County, New York has honored the WWE Hall of Famer Jim Duggan. “Hacksaw” stated on X and posted an image of a Bonafide declaring that the 8th of September is James “Hacksaw” Duggan Day. Jim was born in Glens Falls and became a star athlete at the eponymous high school.
Duggan posted on X writing, “Yesterday was named James “Hacksaw” Duggan Day by the mayor!”. The Glens Falls Firefighters Department earlier honored Dugan who also received admiration from the city’s mayor, S. William Collins. The people who showed up took the photo shared in the same post by “Hacksaw”.
Before joining the professional wrestling business, Jim worked as a firefighter for the Glens Falls department in the 1970s. Thus, the honor came from the association members at Glens Falls Fire Station on 134 Ridge Street. The most patriotic superstar of WWE got the respect he deserved in the most remarkable way possible.
