WWE Raw soon to be rated TV-14
WWE Raw will soon be going non-PG as being initially reported by Andrew Zarian and the move was set to go in effect as early as next week. But, things have been drastically changing over the course of time and several conflicting reports regarding the move to TV-14 have been emerging out. Hours later breaking the news of Raw going back to TV-14, Andrew minced back his words a bit and said that the change is not going to happen from next week as the internal memo being sent out by US network was “premature” and the date for the change was “yet to be finalised”.
Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select also reported that there have been a very “mixed reaction” within WWE regarding the initiative and the people he spoke to wasn’t aware of the call being made. Well, until now many people were wondering about who could be held responsible for this bold move of WWE Raw programming reverting back to their old territory of TV-14 rating. Some even began speculating that Cody Rhodes had made the change with his influence backstage but that’s not the case as a new report regarding the real “driving force” behind the move has been revealed.
According to Dave Meltzer, a source within WWE indicated him that the call to end PG was the decision of the USA Network itself and not a WWE call in particular. Another concrete evidence of the same can be pieced up by that internal memo being sent by the network to its partners.
WWE Raw reverting back to TV-14 may not change everything

Although this rating switch could hand some more freedom to WWE regarding going a lot more “edgier” with their content, it still doesn’t mean we are going back to something like The Attitude Era or The Ruthless Aggression Era. Sean Ross Sapp reported that the programs being run on cable necessarily need not to maintain themselves on a certain level to meet the bars of being a PG or a Non-PG show.
The report added that WWE’s NXT 2.0 currently produces much “revealing” programming than any of the main roster shows still it’s rated as TV-PG. At the end, everything is in the hands of WWE themselves and a switch to a newer rating would not compulsorily bring a significant amendment into their existing product of WWE Raw.
