Dolph Ziggler suffers yet another assault on Monday Night Raw as a former NXT superstar explodes on the scene. This was during the battle royal that took place to determine a new challenger for the Intercontinental Championship. Mustafa Ali managed to win the match and will now go on to fight Gunther at Night of Champions.
Former NXT superstar JD McDonagh made his intentions clear on Monday Night Raw during the battle royal when he attacked Dolph Ziggler after both of them were eliminated. The Irish Ace blindsided Ziggler and pushed him into the steel stairs. He attacked Ziggler with the stairs until the referees intercepted and escorted McDonagh to the back.
McDonagh has been one of the latest call-ups from NXT to the red brand. He naturally wanted to make a solid impact as soon as he arrived on the main roster. After the match, Cathy Kelly would try to get a word from JD about why he attacked Dolph. The former NXT superstar made it clear, saying he wanted to put everyone on notice.
He believes there is no better way to start than by attacking a former World Champion. The 33-year-old acknowledged the successful career of Dolph Ziggler and said that defeating him would send a message to everyone on the roster. WWE also introduced a follow-up storyline as soon as The Irish Ace left, as his mentor, Finn Balor, was seen looking on from a distance.
This has caused intrigue among the fans, as Finn Balor and Devlin share a long history going back almost two decades. It will be very interesting to see how things play out between the two men and who benefits the most. McDonagh obliterating Dolph Ziggler this week has been one of the highlighting factors of the show. Watch the video here.

List of Irish wrestlers in WWE
In recent years, WWE has had successful wrestlers from all around the world on its roster. Wrestlers like Shinsuke Nakamura, AJ Styles, and Kota Ibushi, who had success in Japan, have all come to WWE at some point in their careers. Styles and Nakamura continue to have a dominant position to this day. Besides, Mexican wrestlers have always had a spot on the WWE roster as well.
On the other hand, Ireland has produced a lot of wrestlers who achieved fame in WWE. Finn Balor, Becky Lynch, Sheamus, Fit Finlay, and several others have succeeded in the Stamford-based promotion. JD McDonagh is one of the new faces who has shown great potential to go to the top of the mountain.
Other European wrestlers like Gunther and the Imperium, Wade Barett, and William Regal have succeeded on the main roster as well. With NXT UK shutting down, there is a high chance that the wrestlers from that brand would jump over to NXT or even the main rosters of Raw or SmackDown.
