FTR is a wrestling tag team known for their technical wrestling ability and old-school style. The team consists of Dax Hardwood and Cash Wheeler. They were known as The Revival during their time in the WWE. After leaving WWE in 2020, FTR signed with AEW and won the AEW Tag Team Championship in September of that year, defeating Hangman Adam Page and Kenny Omega. They also held the IWGP and ROH tag team titles.
At NJPW WrestleKingdom 17, FTR lost their IWGP tag team titles and disappeared from AEW TV. During their hiatus, speculations of FTR’s WWE return were running wild. However, they put a break on all the rumors by making their return at the AEW Revolution PPV. On the following episode of AEW Dynamite, Dax Hardwood and Cash Wheeler announced that they are here to stay.
Through his Twitter account recently, Dax Hardwood of the FTR tweeted, “Just got off the phone with Cash. We’ve decided what we’re going to do come April. NOTHING is official yet, so legally, can’t speak on it, but in the next couple of weeks, we’ll let all of our fans know. We owe it to y’all for the opportunities we have in front of us. Love y’all”.
Considering the tweet, FTR might be teasing their potential WWE return possibly in April. Nonetheless, it could also mean something else, as they are currently involved in a major feud in the AEW. FTR’s AEW contract was reportedly set to expire this year. However, they might have extended their contract as AEW doesn’t disclose the contract status of their wrestlers.

FTR might be away from the WWE for almost three years now, but there is no denying that the promotion is still very close to their hearts. After all, they made their mark during their time in the WWE’s developmental brand, NXT.
In his other tweet recently, Dax Hardwood announced the next episode of his podcast, FTR with Dax. Hardwood tweeted, “Later this evening, we’re recording @ftrwithdax, and it’s all about my former boss, @TripleH“.
He also asked the fans to drop questions about Triple H, describing him as a boss, leader, mentor, and creator. Considering the announcement, the FTR has nothing but the utmost respect for Hunter as their former mentor. The upcoming episode regarding Triple H will be interesting to watch.
