WWE Hall of Famer Goldberg is loved by many and is considered to be one of the most ruthless wrestlers of all time. But sometimes the fans criticize him for still wanting to wrestle. Every superstar who works in WWE respects Vince McMahon, but Goldberg isn’t one of them.
The 57-year-old spoke with Steve Trevino via the Steve and Captain Evil podcast; he was asked about his opinions on Vince. At first, he showed his gratitude to Vince for allowing him to wrestle in front of his wife and kids. However, he criticized Vince for not fulfilling his promise to give him his retirement match.
He’s the big boss and he makes everything happen but in all honesty, he allowed me to put my wife and my son in the front row and gave me the ability to perform again in front of them. I remember calling him from my house here and I said, ‘Listen here’s the deal, I’ll do it if you give me a retirement match. So I put myself in a shitty situation to get what I wanted but to satiate him and to give him what he wants. The problem is, he never held up his part so Vince is a piece of sh*t as far as I’m concerned.Goldeberg on Vince McMahon via Steve and Captain Evil podcast
Goldberg wrestled his last match against The Tribal Chief Roman Reigns at Elimination Chamber a year ago. However, he hasn’t graced the ring since. As such, Goldberg called out Vince for not upholding his end of the bargain.
Surprisingly, Goldberg was often criticized by the fans for his poor performance in the ring. One of the most infamous matches occurred at WWE Super Showdown 2019, where Undertaker and Goldberg wrestled in a singles match. Not only did Goldberg injure himself, but he also put Taker’s health in danger.
Goldberg shares some interesting things about his match vs Hulk Hogan in WCW
Bill Goldberg was one of the biggest stars in WCW and even had a 173-0 undefeated streak. He defeated many top stars during his streak, and one of them was ‘The Immortal’, Hulk Hogan. He shared an interesting fact about that match.
Goldberg had an interview with the Steve and Captain Evil podcast. There Goldberg was asked the tricky question regarding the person who decides the winner of a pro wrestling match. He said that Hulk Hogan decided the fate of their match and allowed him the victory.
The reason is that the company needed him to be the guy who beat the heel, NWO Hogan. The 57-year-old even praised Hogan, saying that he was very unselfish to let him win, and ultimately, it was best for the business.
When you get a guy like Hulk Hogan in the business, who is arguably the pillar of professional wrestling, when he comes to WCW, an upstart company led by the younger people, you follow his lead. So, he was running hot with that NWO bad guy character, and they needed some big, monstrous, ugly dude like me to beat him. He chose to do it and it was a perfect move for the business at the time and he was so selfless.Goldberg on his win against Hulk Hogan via Steve and Captain Evil podcast
He recently paid a visit to an NFL game between Atlanta Falcons and Tampa Bay Buccaneers and infamously speared a fan wearing a Tom Brady jersey. For now, WWE has no plans to invite Goldberg for another match, but no one can predict what will happen in the future.
