Goldberg fought against The Undertaker at Super ShowDown 2019
Back in May 2019, It was announced that Bill would face The Undertaker at WWE Super ShowDown 2019, making it the first ever match between both the wrestlers. Bill had previously wrestled in 2017 at WrestleMania, whereas The Undertaker had wrestled his previous match in 2018 at the Crown Jewel.
Goldberg began with two Spears on Undertaker for a near-fall. He thwarted Undertaker’s Chokeslam attempt with a Leg-Lock Submission Hold, but Undertaker was able to reach the ropes. “The Deadman” evaded Bill’s third Spear attempt, causing Bill to connect with the ring post, getting hit on the skull and incurring a concussion. This gave Undertaker the upper hand for the remainder of the match, allowing him to deliver an Old School, a Chokeslam, and a Tombstone Piledriver for a near-fall. Both men collapsed when Goldberg attempted a Tombstone Piledriver. The bout was won by Undertaker’s second Chokeslam on Goldberg.
Back in 2021, The Undertaker had appeared on Joe Rogan’s Podcast, where he had stated that he prefers wrestling with wrestlers from his era than wrestling with the current ones as the wrestlers during his era were “real men” compared to today’s wrestlers.
Goldberg too had shared his views on “The Deadman’s” comments, He had appeared on Corey Graves’ podcast “After the bell” and had said that He feels that the present corporate environment is rather soft in comparison to his period. Goldberg had mentioned Drew McIntyre and said that he is one of the superstars who have made it beyond relying upon the public and has forced his way up to the top to earn his spot.
“Yes, I believe comparatively to my era that the business is soft. The business is in 2021, so things have to change and things have to be different. Mega superstars that were bigger than life, but it’s hard in this generation, seemingly to build those people. There are a couple of people who have made it beyond relying upon the public to do that, and they forced their way up and they’ve earned their spot. Drew McIntyre is one of them.”
As of now, Goldberg’s WWE contract has expired and we don’t know when he will wrestle his next match.
