Some people might like it the other way, but Grayson Waller isn’t a generic NXT 2.0 product. The 33-year-old arrived on the scene when Vince McMahon decided to uproot NXT’s Black & Gold era and replace it with a festival of colors. Despite McMahon’s attempts to make a mockery out of Triple H’s spellbinding creation, 2.0 did create its stars. Needless to say, Waller was one of them. Right now, he’s a mainstay of WWE’s SmackDown brand.
Despite his shambolic win-loss record on the main roster, Grayson has excelled at his character work. A prime example of his dedication to maintaining the kayfabe was on display recently. During a meet-and-greet event, the 33-year-old mingled with a kid. Despite his initial reluctance, Grayson Waller posed with him for a snap after confirming that he was paid extra for it.
The Aussie Icon, forced to sign on that kid’s hat, joked about the kids of the present generation being too greedy. Finally, after a short tussle with that young soul, the former NXT star would’ve taken a sigh of relief. Now, take a moment and analyze how effortlessly the Brash Aussie handled that child. Without breaking his character, Waller made the day for his fans.
Thus far, The Dynamite From Down Under has had a tough time roaming around the so-called filthy beaches of America. Before this week’s SmackDown in Boston, Waller was on sight to chill nearby upon someone’s recommendation, and he loathed his decision. The Moment Maker even requested that WWE hold their shows in Australia so that he could get away from his ongoing nightmares in the United States.

Grayson Waller welcomes John Cena on this week’s SmackDown

After their impromptu faceoff at Money in the Bank, Grayson Waller and John Cena will meet in an official capacity next week. As he announced himself on SmackDown, the 16-time World Champion would join The Grayson Waller Effect in less than a week in Denver. The segment might very well turn out to be setting things up for the future. Nonetheless, Grayson Waller has recently found a new ally in Austin Theory.
The expectations are that both youngsters will collide with John Cena next week. The theory could boast about his forced triumph over Cena at WrestleMania 39. On the other hand, Waller has every reason to begrudge the Cenation Leader. That’s where Cena might need help, and LA Knight would most probably make the save. Seemingly, WWE is slowly brewing up a tag team match between Cena and Knight taking on Waller and Theory, potentially at WWE Fastlane.
