The Second City Saint CM Punk has been the talk of the town ever since his termination from All Elite Wrestling earlier this year. The wrestling industry has been buzzing regarding his future in pro wrestling for some time now. The WWE superstars have been dropping subtle hints of Punk’s return and Grayson Waller is the recent one to follow the trend.

The Aussie Icon has a penchant for taking shots and trolling the current happenings in professional wrestling. Recently, the SmackDown superstar posted a picture of himself on the commentary table with Corey Graves. The highlight of the post was his caption, where he dropped a subtle reference to CM Punk’s iconic pipebomb promo in WWE.

This was a line from CM Punk dropped during his iconic Pipebomb promo on June 27, 2011, on an episode of Raw. He took massive shots at the issues with WWE back then. He referred to himself as the best in the world and claimed nobody could touch him, even on commentary.

Grayson Waller used the same words in his post. It is seemingly a shot at CM Punk, which might be considered a subtle hint towards the return of the Second City Saint to WWE. Survivor Series will likely be the place where the Best in the World could make his astounding return.

The chances of it happening are quite good, as the premium live event is taking place in his hometown, Chicago. It is going to be interesting to see if Punk finally returns at the November 25 spectacle.

CM Punk might have a place in NJPW

CM Punk was fired by Tony Khan after the AEW All-In this year. Ever since then, many promotions all over the world have been in the race to sign the Chicago-born wrestler. Recently, in a recent interview with Fightful Select, Rocky Romero, who has an incredible backstage influence in NJPW, faced questions about popular names appearing in NJPW in the near future.

Rocky, without any second thought, dropped the name of CM Punk. He stated that there was a plan for a match between CM Punk and Hiroshi Tanahashi, which never happened. Therefore, he believes that Punk moving to New Japan Pro Wrestling might be beneficial for their product. Here is what he had to say:

You never know. I think that, obviously, we didn’t really get to do many crossovers when Punk was with AEW. There was supposed to be that Tanahashi-Punk match that never happened. So, I think Punk coming and doing a Wrestle Kingdom or a big show like that could be great for our product.

Only time will tell if CM Punk ends up at New Japan Pro Wrestling. The Second City Saint could have some big matches in the promotion. However, NJPW is in collaboration with AEW, which might lead to some backstabbing between the parties. Nonetheless, it is going to be interesting to see where the 45-year-old lands soon.
