The longest reigning Intercontinental champion of all time, Gunther, recently appeared in an interview. He made some controversial remarks about a WWE legend. Previously, his comments on the Ultimate Warrior and Bret Hart grabbed eyeballs. Now, the Ring General has wrapped Dwayne Johnson in his criticism.

In an interview with Wrestling News Co, Gunther said a few things about the past Intercontinental champions. He had some good comments and respect for the champions like Jeff Jerrett, Mr. Perfect, and Razor Ramon. But when it came to The Rock, Gunther had some controversial opinions about him.

In the conversation with Steve Fall of WrestlingNewsCo, Gunther compared The Rock to the Immortal Hulk Hogan. He said that The Great One is the new Hulk Hogan in terms of popularity in modern days. According to the Ring General, Dwayne Johnson is nothing but a showman.

I think he's the new Hulk Hogan in terms of if you ask random people on the street in some random country, they will say The Rock & connect it with wrestling. And most famous but I categorize him as a showman as well.

Some fans trolled Gunther for his controversial remarks for going at all the legends. On the other hand, some fans got excited knowing that this could lead to some amazing storylines for Gunther in WWE. But for now, The Ring General will defend his Intercontinental title against The Miz at Survivor Series.

Gunther reacts on whether he wants a female member in the Imperium

In the aforementioned interview, Gunther was asked by Steve Fell if he wanted to include any female members in the faction. The Imperium leader had an interesting answer. He picked one of the top stars in the WWE women’s division. The name in question is current WWE Women’s Champion Iyo Sky.

Umm.. I think have been questioned before, I think I answered it back then, like we discussed internally once I think our choices would be Iyo Sky. She could be the one we could see as a good fit especially skill-wise, I think it would be a good addition.

It will be interesting to see whether this will just remain a fantasy or come to fruition at some point. Both superstars are on different rosters right now and are at the top of their respective divisions. However, Iyo Sky joining Imperium looks implausible at the moment.
