Despite their incredible match against each other, Chad Gable isn’t finished with Gunther. After last week’s historic battle for the Intercontinental title, both names once again found themselves in the same ring. At first, the Ring General pulled up in a classic black suit for his championship celebration.

He even rebuffed the so-called legends who held the title previously for adding no prestige to the gold. Once he claimed that he was potentially running out of competition on RAW, Chad Gable interrupted the celebration. After vowing to eventually dethrone Gunther for the gold, the Austrian gave Chad a reality check.

Reminding him of the tough loss Gable sustained last week, the champ praised the Olympian for putting up a valiant effort. Gunther soon turned to his vicious side, claiming how terrible of a father the Alpha Academy member is. “Using your children as bait to get a little spotlight? You pushed me to my limit, and you’re a fantastic athlete, but you’re a disgusting, terrible father”, said Gunther.

The Imperium leader scoffed at Chad Gable for using his children to get the spotlight on himself. After listening enough, the former tag-team champion channeled his volcano to erupt on Gunther. The US Olympian swore to God about taking that title away from the Ring General. He even mentioned how, when he lost the previous week, his oldest daughter started crying.

The Alpha Academy member’s promo was intense, passionate, and persuasive, drawing everyone into the story. Words were exchanged, leading to a ring melee. Otis and Tommaso Ciampa rushed to Gable’s aid, helping the babyfaces push Imperium down.

Chad Gable gained some much-needed momentum on RAW

The vocal drama transpired into a 6-man tag match between Imperium and The Alpha Academy with Tommaso Ciampa. In such a high-caliber match, the firecrackers were palpable. Unsurprisingly, the bout received widespread acclaim for its work rate. During the closing moments, Gable made Giovanni Vinci submit while Ciampa held onto Gunther on the apron.

It appears like WWE has plans for a Gunther vs. Ciampa match down the road too. It would be a crime to forget what these men did to each other at NXT: Stand & Deliver back in 2021. In a classic wrestling exhibition, Gunther slightly edged past Blackheart. The long-term plans call for a rematch between Gunther and Gable at some point in time. It might be a wise idea to hold the match off for a while, as it could enable more traction later on.
