Gunther has been a dominant champion in WWE. Recently, the Ring General became the longest-reigning Intercontinental Champion in the history of WWE. In an interview, Gunther was asked about a potential dream match against Roman Reigns. Gunther unexpectedly answered this surprising question.
In an interview with WrestleBinge, Gunther talked about a dream match with the Tribal Chief Roman Reigns. He said, “I wouldn’t consider Roman as a dream opponent”. Gunther further elaborated on his statement as he said, “I think we’re two completely different wrestlers”. He also praised Roman for his work in WWE along with the reaction he gets from the crowd.
The Ring General, moreover, went on saying that “he trained in the WWE system, and got brought up through that. I think he’s a picture-perfect example of how WWE can take someone and turn them into an absolute superstar.” Furthermore, Gunther heavily praised Tribal Chief calling his match with a WrestleMania main event worthy.
Gunther is one of the best superstars in WWE right now. Moreover, his reign as the Champion has been one of the best reigns in modern history. Nonetheless, it will be interesting to see who will step up next for the Ring General on RAW, as he continues his reign as the Intercontinental Champion in WWE.

Sheamus calls out Gunther as sockless disgrace
Sheamus has been one of the top rivals for Gunther in WWE. His match at the Clash at the Castle is one of the best matches in recent history. Recently, Sheamus took to X to troll the Ring General once again, following becoming the longest-reigning Intercontinental Champion of all time.
Sheamus took to X to post an image of Honky Tonk Man where he is wearing socks backstage. The Celtic Warrior wrote, “Honky Tonk Man broke records AND he wore socks. Goontha is a sockless disgrace. Raw ankles on Raw?,” calling him a “Sockless Disgrace”
Gunther recently became the longest-reigning Intercontinental Champion and has been looking for a challenge on RAW lately. It is going to be interesting to see who steps up on RAW against the Ring General. Potential superstars who can go up against Gunther are Tommaso Ciampa, Chad Gable.
