The Imperium has always been a dominant faction since its inception. Recently, in an interview with WrestleBinge, Gunther was asked about the Imperium battling a faction like the Judgment Day. He was also asked about which female superstars he would like to have on his faction in order to take on Rhea Ripley. The Ring General said that if he gets to choose, it will be between Iyo Sky and Charlotte Flair.
The interviewer also asked questions about potential new members joining the Imperium. Responding to this, the Intercontinental Champion denied the prospect of it happening. Gunther believes that his faction is doing phenomenally well and that there is no need to expand the stable. He said, “No we are good, how we are.”
Clearly, a battle between The Judgement Day and Imperium can be the match of the year. Furthermore, the interviewer also asked questions regarding the troubles brewing in the Imperium concerning Giovanni Vinci. To this, the Intercontinental Champion had an intimidating reply.
Gunther said, “It’s not about personal or emotional stuff, it’s about performance. If the performance is good the relationship is good”. There has been a bit of turmoil around the faction lately. Therefore, it will be interesting to see how the future of the Imperium shape up in the upcoming months.
Potential match of Gunther against Roman Reigns
Gunther’s reign as Intercontinental Champion has undoubtedly been legendary. During the aforementioned interview, Gunther was questioned about Roman Reigns. He was asked if facing Roman is a possible dream match he considers in the near future. To which he said, “I wouldn’t consider Roman as a dream opponent.”
The Ring General believes that he and Roman Reigns are very different from each other. According to him, they both possess a different wrestling style. He also praised the Tribal Chief for his wrestling skills and the abilities he brings to the ring. There is no doubt that these two superstars can deliver a WrestleMania-worthy match.
These two superstars will cross paths on the main roster, and it will be interesting to see what happens when they do. Roman’s undefeated streak came to an end at Money in the Bank. On the other hand, Gunther holds the distinction of being the only superstar in WWE with an undefeated streak.
