Gunther suffers a shocking defeat against a 38-year-old superstar after SmackDown went off- air
Gunther lost a match via DQ against Jey Uso in a dark match this week on SmackDown.

The current Intercontinental Champion, Gunther, debuted on the main roster almost three years ago. Since then, he has been dominating the entire landscape. Moreover, he has been the champion for a record-setting 500+ days. The Ring General recently suffered a rare loss in a dark match after SmackDown went off-air.
Gunther wrestled Jey Uso in a dark match this week on SmackDown. The match was incredible until the Imperium leader decided to play his heel tactics. The 36-year-old hit Jey Uso with a low blow and lost the match via disqualification. Although this was a rare loss, he still kept his record intact.
Gunther and Jey Uso have never crossed paths before, and this was their first encounter. As soon as this match was officially announced, fans immediately got excited, as they are two of the top-tier superstars in WWE. Fans have been longing to see them have a feud on the main roster following their dark match.
After the match, Gunther tried to cause some more damage by attempting a powerbomb on Jey Uso. But the former Bloodline member countered it with a superkick and a spear. Fans saw what these two can put together in the ring and expect one more match on WWE television.
Gunther sees a huge potential in Ludwig Kaiser to be a future Champion
The Ring General Gunther had some high praise for his right-hand man, Ludwig Kaiser. When he was asked if Ludwig had the potential to become the future singles champion, Gunther immediately agreed with him and praised his stablemate. Recently, when Kaiser was in his hometown for a live tour event, he even received a tremendous amount of love and support.
Gunther and Kaiser have been friends for almost 13 years now. They have traveled around the world together and wrestled with each other a lot. While talking with MuscleManMalcom in a live interview, The Imperium leader heaped praise on Kaiser.

Even though the faction is heel, people love their work ethic and wrestling style. It will be interesting to see what happens if WWE decides to break the stable at some point. Currently, the Imperium has been dominating Monday Night Raw.
