The past couple of weeks have been an unexpected ride for the wrestling community. Six months after announcing his retirement, Vince McMahon has returned to WWE, and the wrestling world has a lot to say about it. Recently, Eric Bischoff shared his thoughts about how unfair the wrestling fans have been to Vince McMahon.

In his 83 weeks podcast, Eric Bischoff, while talking about Vince’s creative process, defended his former rival. He said, “The whole Vince is old and out of touch thing, you can argue that maybe creatively because you don’t like Vince’s vision of what wrestling should be, but it doesn’t mean that he is not in control of his faculties or that he’s missed a beat. I think that’s internet wrestling chatter because people aren’t happy with what they’re seeing on television. ‘Oh, it’s because he’s too old.’ No ageism, right?”

Vince announced his retirement from WWE on Twitter in July last year. This was shocking to many fans, as Vince was not the type of guy to announce his exit from the company over a simple tweet. These apprehensions of fans came true when Vince made his forced return to the WWE Board of Directors to start the new year. Eventually, McMahon also regained his position as Chairman.

As soon as Vince McMahon returned to WWE, it was feared that he would not settle until he had full control of the company. These fears are slowly coming true, as Stephanie McMahon resigned as the co-CEO of the company, and Vince was reinstated as the Chairman.

In a Talent meeting before SmackDown, Triple H assured everyone that Vince has only returned to facilitate the sale of WWE and there will be no changes in the creative team. However, according to recent reports from Ringside News and Wrestling Observer, Vince is already suggesting changes in the creative.

Ever since Triple H has taken control, the product has improved manyfold, the ratings are better, and the backstage morale is at an all-time high. Every superstar and staff member liked the duo of Stephanie and Paul Levesque (aka Triple H). Amidst these rumors of Vince wanting to manage the day-to-day happenings of the business in addition to Stephanie’s resignation, morale has taken a hit backstage. Vince’s return to the creative chair now only seems a matter of when rather than if.
