Happy Corbin is one of the WWE wrestlers who has consistently shown improvement in his performances since his debut. Happy Corbin is one of the wrestlers who has been loved by the backstage personnel of WWE, especially the writers. A former writer had once said that Happy Corbin is one of the most pleasant people around and that he isn’t contentious about the work he has been handed over.

The WWE Universe has been impressed with Corbin’s run until now in WWE. They have cited his finisher and his signature part as one of the best things of his in-ring performances. Prior to his wrestling career Happy Corbin was a professional Football player. Corbin was an offensive lineman in the National Football League for the Indianapolis Colts and Arizona Cardinals.

Happy Corbin signed a contract with WWE in 2012, He trained himself at the WWE Performance center and made his in-ring debut at one of the house shows. Corbin worked as a Jobber until 2014 and debuted with a face in 2014. Corbin wrestled in NXT until 2016 and then made his main roster debut at WrestleMania 32, He won the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal at that event.

Since then, Corbin has won the United States Championship one time, 2017 Money in the Bank contract and has also won the King of the Ring Tournament in 2019, after which he had changed his name to “King Corbin”. He used the name until June 2021 and dropped it after he lost the crown.

Happy Corbin was recently involved in a feud with Madcap moss which ended on June 17 episode of SmackDown in a last laugh match, Corbin lost that match. Right after his loss Happy Corbin began a feud with Pat McAfee, Corbin confronted McAfee after his loss and accused the latter of insulting him. Additionally, he threatened McAfee, but McAfee was able to persuade the crowd to laugh at Corbin by calling him a sucker.

This Friday night on SmackDown Pat McAfee addressed the crowd by saying that he is having the time of his life in WWE and how grateful he is to be a part of it. He closed by challenging Corbin to a SummerSlam match and threatening to kick “The former King’s” teeth down his throat.

Corbin, who was not available for SmackDown, released a video on Twitter stating that McAfee knew he wasn’t in Austin, which is why he is speaking so much without any hesitation. He also stated that he wants to see how tough McAfee is when they square off.

“I’m in Kansas City and you knew that,” Corbin said. “You’re in Austin, in your safe place, standing behind your desk, standing on your desk, sitting in your chair, running your mouth… that’s what you do, though. You knew I wasn’t going to be in Austin, so you’re flapping your gums and putting my name in your mouth. Pat, let’s see how tough you really are when we’re standing face-to-face, punk.”

 Pat McAfee is yet to respond to Corbin’s twitter post. Interestingly Happy Corbin and Pat McAfee are good friends in real life, with the latter also a former footballer. They lived together during their rookie years and were teammates with the Indianapolis Colts. Corbin and McAfee have connected over their mutual love of wrestling.

There is no confirmation as of yet regarding their match at SummerSlam. SummerSlam will take place at Nissan Stadium, Nashville, Tennessee on 30th July.
