Positive news on Johnny Gargano’s ongoing WWE absence, his future plans potentially revealed

Injuries can completely derail a wrestler’s momentum, and such a thing happened with Johnny Gargano. He’s about to complete a year on the main-roster next month. However, one may feel that he has done absolutely nothing in that period. While that assessment can’t be ruled out completely, there’s a major reason behind Gargano’s absence.
He had a history of shoulder injuries in the past. That didn’t leave him for good, even after his promotion to the red brand. He’s been off television for quite a while now, and fans are losing their patience. According to Fightful Select, the 35-year-old superstar is no longer dealing with an injury. There’s been some sort of smoke and mirrors regarding his in-ring clearance.
The report wasn’t able to confirm whether he’s reuniting with Tommaso Ciampa or not. In recent weeks, the rumor mill has churned out numerous stories labeling DIY’s impending reunion on the main roster. While that might be in the works, there’s no certainty that he’ll compete at SummerSlam this year.
Nonetheless, the former NXT Champion is factored into recent creative plans. It seems like the doctors have cleared Johnny Gargano for an in-ring return. Amidst the growing speculation about his whereabouts, fans continue to wait for The Rebel Heart. There’s still plenty of time left for ‘The Biggest Party of the Summer’ to feature Gargano in some form in Detroit.
Johnny Gargano may join forces with Tommaso Ciampa very soon
It may finally happen any moment now. Apparently, WWE planted the seeds for a DIY reunion this week on Raw, as Tommaso Ciampa battled The Miz in a No-Disqualification match. In a well-contested match, the Blackheart was looking to close the book on The A-lister. However, during the closing moments, Bronson Reed appeared out of nowhere and targeted Miz’s opponent.
The Australian wrestler absolutely pulverized The Sicilian Psychopath. After several blows outside the ring, Reed performed his Tsunami finishing maneuver on Ciampa to hand Miz his first victory this year. Surely, with such a reckoning force in Miz’s camp, Tommaso Ciampa seriously needs a backup.
This may lead to the return of Johnny Gargano. There’s no one better on this planet than Johnny Wrestling himself to fit into that position. Given their history back in NXT, Gargano & Ciampa must have a run together on the main roster before they move onto bigger things.
