Hulk Hogan is arguably one of the biggest names in professional wrestling history. He single-handedly carried WWE in the 1980s as the top babyface of the company. During this time, he also appeared in a few movies as he tried his hand at acting aside from wrestling. One memorable role that fans remember Hulk Hogan for was in Rocky III, where he slams Sylvester Stallone.

While talking on The Joe Rogan Experience podcast, Hogan revealed that his role in Rocky III did not sit well with Vince McMahon Sr. “I remember when I was going to do that film, Vince McMahon Senior fired me because of that..because of that movie,” Hogan said. He told him only after he had signed the contract, which paid him $14,000 for the role. This made McMahon Sr. furious, and he fired the Hall of Famer from WWE.

However, Hogan was too big of a star by that point to not have him in their company. Therefore, he was hired back. Hulk Hogan’s popularity was undeniable in the 1980s and early 1990s. When WWE announced WrestleMania as their flagship event annually, the shows featured Hulk Hogan as the top name.

The Hulkamania wrestled in the main event of the first nine WrestleManias. He would finally leave WWE in 1995 to join WCW. The Hall of Famer would shock the industry again in 1996 as he turned heel for the first time in his career, joining Scott Hall and Kevin Nash to form the NWO.

When WCW tanked in 2001, Hogan, Nash, and Hall returned to WWE to thunderous reactions. The Hulkster would go on to face The Rock at WrestleMania 18, which is considered to be one of the greatest Mania matches in terms of crowd reaction and hype.

WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan recently turned 70 and has been dealing with multiple problems due to years of wrestling and old age. However, on a brighter note, the Hulkster recently revealed that he has stopped drinking since January and has seen its benefits. Hogan revealed that after almost 40 years of binge drinking and eating junk food, he quit the bad habit. Due to this, he instantly started losing weight and has lost over 40 pounds in the process.

Hogan also said that he can feel the glow in his muscles as he has stopped eating unhealthy food and focuses more on his health. The two-time WWE Hall of Famer recently announced his engagement to his 45-year-old girlfriend. Therefore, quitting alcohol and junk food helps him be as fit as his fiance.

The 12-time World Champion said that being on the road for so many years had messed up his body. As a wrestler, Hogan revealed that they would drink beers the entire night and eat all kinds of foods. In addition to that, Hogan has had issues with painkiller addiction as a result of over 25 surgeries that he has had over the years.
